Kabaddi Kabaddi (2015) – Full Plot Summary & Ending Explained

Read the complete plot breakdown of Kabaddi Kabaddi (2015), including all key story events, major twists, and the ending explained in detail. Discover what really happened—and what it all means.

One year after Kabaddi, the story resumes in the rugged village of Naurikot in Mustang. Kaji Dayahang Rai remains stubbornly optimistic that Maiya will eventually share his long-held love, joking that love works like money—attracting more money. His friends, B.K Saugat Malla and Chhantyal, worry that Maiya might push Kaji toward perpetual celibacy, yet Kaji doubles down on his计划 and even has B.K write a love letter in chicken blood to seal his devotion. The atmosphere thickens as the district gears up for the parliamentary elections, a high-stakes arena that tests loyalties and desires in equal measure.

Kaji has risen into a notable young political figure, serving as the chairman of the youth wing of the Laligurans Party, and he stakes his reputation on helping his uncle Lal Kaji Sherchan Bijay Baral win the election. But the rival Saptarangi Party counters with Maiya’s father, Ambir Gauchan Shishir Bangdel, as its candidate, setting up a dramatic conflict of interest that strains family ties and political alliances. Amidst the campaign frenzy, Chhantyal turns to a local shaman, Jhaakri Upendra Subba, in a desperate bid for guidance, while Bam Kaji, a city-educated young man, arrives in the village and injects a new, glossy bid for Maiya’s attention.

Ambir Gauchan returns to the village with a calculated appeal, and recognizing Kaji’s unwavering fixation, begins to manipulate Maiya through Kaji to secure support. Kaji defects from his old party and aligns with Ambir’s camp, while Bam Kaji intensifies his own pursuit, driven by a mix of affection and ambition. Maiya, initially flattered by Bam Kaji’s sophistication, starts to acknowledge his advances, even as Kaji continues to function as Ambir’s tactical adviser and helps the alliance build a solid path to victory. The simmering tension culminates in a fierce confrontation when Lal Kaji Sherchan challenges Kaji’s deception, igniting a brutal fight between the cousins that leaves Kaji with a painful hand injury.

The plot twists further at a local liquor shop, where a drunken Bam Kaji lays bare his cynical plan: he doesn’t truly love Maiya; he intends to marry her on a bet with his roommate Bibek [Nischal Basnet] as a test of his own prowess—before his ex-girlfriend Lolita does. Maiya, informed by Chhantyal’s distraught wife, is momentarily appalled, brushing off Bam Kaji and recognizing for the first time the depth of Kaji’s genuine feelings. Yet Bam Kaji, a master of emotional manipulation, regains Maiya’s attention with relentless pursuit. A deeper tragedy unfolds when Chhantyal’s wife Gauri reveals she is pregnant, and the father is the shaman; Chhantyal lashes out at the fleeing figure, and the emotional damage proves irreparable. By the time the election is over, the Saptarangi party is declared the winner, and Chhantyal decides to leave the village with Kaji’s financial help. As he departs, he notices Bam Kaji and Maiya eloping and immediately alerts Kaji.

In the climactic pursuit, Kaji and his team chase Bam Kaji and Maiya on motorcycles, ending in a tense confrontation between the cousins. Maiya delivers a final blow of honesty, condemning Kaji’s actions and declaring she would rather die than be his wife, leaving Kaji devastated and in silence as he tears the love letter into pieces. A few days later in Kathmandu, Bam Kaji and Maiya visit a temple for their wedding, only to discover Bibek and Maiya’s ex-girlfriend Lolita are there getting married themselves, a twist that underscores the tangled web of relationships. Back in Naurikot, B.K. suggests they both leave, sensing that everyone they cared about has moved on. Kaji, however, declines, choosing to remain in the village and devote himself to serving his people through politics, vowing never to marry for convenience. The arrival of Dilkumari in the village to congratulate him on his electoral win hints that the cycle of attraction and complication may yet find new forms, leaving the door open for future chapters in this enduring saga.
