Jan Žižka

A servant named Johanka travels through Bohemia with fugitives in tow, seeking safety among forbidden mountain sermons. They move through dangerous terrain and face pursuit by the lord's units. She manages to escape with luck and continue guiding the group.

Wenceslas IV is blackmailed by emissaries of Sigismund and the Pope, who threaten a crusade if Hussite activity is not crushed and confiscated church property isn't restored. Under threat, he bans public meetings and orders confiscation of weapons from Prague citizens.

During the crackdown, students Ješek and Prokůpek are seized, along with three Prague journeymen, by king's soldiers. The arrests heighten tension as Hussite sympathizers react against royal authority.

Defying the king's orders, Žižka arms the Prague poor. Priest Jan Želivský leads the mob to the New Town Hall, where the prisoners are held hostage. The bold move marks a radical shift in the Hussite response.

An armed mob gathers in front of the town hall and pushes through the gates. The councilors order the prisoners executed, but the Hussite crowd frees four surviving captives; Ješek is killed. The crowd then elects Jan Žižka as their leader and governor.

News of the revolt reaches Wenceslas at a hunting lodge near Prague, and his rage erupts when he learns of Žižka's leadership. He suffers a stroke and dies, a turning point that shifts power to the Hussites. The king's death strengthens the rebels' resolve.

Queen Žofia escapes Prague as the rebellion grows. Wenceslas's body is secretly transported to the Zbraslav Monastery for burial.

Emperor Sigismund orders the Czech nobility to crush the rebellion and names Cenek of Vartenberk as his representative in the country. The move consolidates royal authority against the Hussite movement. Tensions escalate as factions realign.

Nobles loyal to Sigismund clash with the Prague Hussites. The Hussites occupy Old Town but are betrayed by wealthy merchants who strike a secret deal with Vartenberk to seize Prague Castle and Vyšehrad. The city becomes encircled by rival forces.

Jan Žižka and priest Václav Koranda lead a faction of radical Hussites from Prague on the road toward Tábor. Their march passes along the route from Plzeň to Tábor as they seek a mountain stronghold. The journey sets the stage for the final conflict.

On the way, Žižka's group is ambushed by lord's cavalry and Johannites from Strakonice near Sudoměř. The surprise attack tests their resolve and tactics. They fight to break through and continue toward Tábor.

The climactic battle at Sudoměř sees the Hussites defeat and disperse the overwhelming Catholic knights. The maid Johanka dies in the fighting, sacrificing herself for the cause. The remaining Hussites persevere and press on to Tábor.

With the battle concluded, the surviving Hussites reach Tábor, securing a mountain base and a stronghold for their movement. The journey marks a turning point in their struggle against the nobles and the Catholic forces. The film ends on their determination to continue the resistance.
