Samidha, also known as Sam, lives with her parents Poorna and Inesh. She is disconnected from her Indian roots, which upsets her mother, who encourages her to help prepare for an upcoming puja. The family background provides context for the cultural clash in the story.

At school, Samidha interacts with her teacher Joyce and her crush Russ. Tamira, a girl with a disheveled appearance, arrives late and carries the black jar. Samidha's past friendship with Tamira is hinted at, and Tamira’s strange behavior suggests a deeper connection to the supernatural element.

Tamira shows Samidha the black jar and claims it is connected to childhood stories, revealing she found it in an abandoned house. When Tamira’s curiosity leads her to break the jar, a horrifying entity is unleashed, and Tamira is attacked by something pulling her hair, disappearing before help arrives.

Tamira goes missing, and her mother reports her as a missing person. Samidha finds Tamira’s belonging, a book with initials ‘KC,’ containing disturbing ghostly images and writings. This deepens the connection between the supernatural entity and the contents of the book.

At a traditional puja, Samidha overhears the troubled Choudhary family and learns about Karan’s mysterious death. She becomes uncomfortable and considers leaving, sensing a dark energy linked to her community and the supernatural threat.

Samidha researches Karan’s book at a beach party and visits the Choudhary residence, discovering demonic drawings similar to those in the book. She and Russ flee when they hear police sirens, hinting at escalating danger and the presence of a supernatural force.

Samidha experiences nightmares haunted by a mysterious entity. She confides in Joyce, who explains that the demon is a Pishach, feeding off negative energy and flesh. The entity begins to manifest more directly, terrorizing her and her friends.

Samidha and her family prepare traditional offerings to summon the Pishach, but the demon rejects the effort and attacks them, wounding Inesh and Poorna. Meanwhile, Joyce is attacked at the school, signifying the increasing threat of the demon.

Samidha locates Tamira in the Choudhary house. She realizes she must become the vessel for the Pishach to defeat it, allowing the demon to inhabit her body. This act of sacrifice is pivotal to stopping the malevolent force, though it leaves her permanently possessed.

A year after the confrontation, Samidha lives with her family and friends, who now know about the demon residing within her. She has learned to control the Pishach, maintaining a fragile balance between her human side and the demonic presence, ending the story on a bittersweet note.
