After his father sells him to a small carpentry workshop that relies on child labour, Iqbal endures a cruel overseer who enforces a harsh code of conduct. The children, aged five to ten, work nonstop, denied bathroom breaks or contact with their families. The injustice becomes stark when a member of the country’s communist anti‑child‑labour party photographs the exploited youths.
