A lyrical story explores the harsh realities of lost childhood and child slavery. Nine-year-old Jhalki, a resourceful and street-smart girl, embarks on a desperate search for her seven-year-old brother, Babu, who has been forced into child labor. The film depicts Babu's difficult experiences in a bleak and oppressive workplace, while Jhalki uses a folk tale about a tireless sparrow and her own cleverness to navigate the situation. Ultimately, she strives to free Babu and many other enslaved children affected by this global issue.
