Intruders

Anna lives alone in her childhood home, unable to leave due to severe agoraphobia. She cares for her dying brother Conrad and relies on daily food deliveries from Dan. Their quiet routine highlights a claustrophobic life she cannot escape.

Conrad fights pancreatic cancer while staying at home, trying to coax Anna to keep living beyond the walls she built. He urges her to step out and reclaim her life, but she remains tethered to the house. Their bond is tender but strained by fear and grief.

Conrad dies after a long illness, leaving Anna and Dan to grieve in silence. The shared loss deepens their sense of entrapment, as they recognize how little freedom either of them has. They exchange quiet solace about the life they could have had if not for the house.

Anna, desperate for a chance to escape, offers Dan a large sum of money to help him leave his own circumstances behind. Dan politely refuses the proposition, recognizing the danger and the complexity of their situation. Their moment underscores how trapped they both feel.

On the day of Conrad's funeral, three intruders—Perry, Vance, and J.P.—break into the house in search of the rumored money. They quickly realize Anna is inside and attempt to control the situation by restraining her. The tension escalates as they discover she cannot easily leave the house.

The intruders terrorize the house, and Perry kills Anna's pet bird to entice her out. Dan arrives searching for Anna because she wasn't at the funeral, but the thieves restrain him and begin to search the house for the money. The living room becomes a trap as Anna's isolation becomes a weapon against them.

Anna kills Vance and drags him into the basement, dragging the intruders one by one into the dark underbelly of the house. The other two intruders chase after him, and she activates a hidden basement staircase to cut off their escape. The house itself becomes a weapon against the intruders.

Anna confronts Dan as he admits he told Vance about the money but insists he never planned the robbery. He confesses that he couldn't get her out of his head, which infuriates and hurts Anna. In retaliation, she breaks two fingers and pushes him into the basement, where his knee is dislocated; Perry then pops his knee back into place and revels in the pain.

Using a network of cameras, Anna lures J.P. into a separate bedroom and locks him away, cutting off his chance to rescue or escape with the others. The house's surveillance becomes a silent, omniscient observer of the feud. The trapped intruder's fate now hinges on Anna's next move.

Perry attacks in a final burst of aggression, but Anna bludgeons him with a hammer and prevails. With Perry dead, the house quiets but the other intruders remain trapped inside. Dan's fate hangs in the balance as the situation stabilizes in the eerie stillness of the house.

Dan attempts to escape and discovers Perry's corpse and a body in the freezer, confirming the house's deadly secrets. Conrad's lawyer arrives to check on Anna, and she feigns normalcy to avoid suspicion. After the lawyer leaves, Anna proceeds to trap Dan and J.P. in a single room.

J.P. pieces together the truth from Anna's surveillance, realizing that Conrad was a serial killer who lured his victims into the basement. Anna confirms this but explains that all victims were child molesters, and she reveals the origin of the family abuse she endured. The revelation reframes the house's dark history and sets the stage for revenge.

Anna proposes that Dan kill J.P. in exchange for his release; Dan refuses, choosing not to become an instrument of more violence. J.P. grabs a gun and aims at Dan; Anna unlocks the door, allowing Dan and J.P. to escape.

J.P. returns for revenge and attacks, but Dan distracts him long enough for Anna to shoot him. Dan then leaves, and Anna steps outside to ignite the house, burning its secrets and ending the nightmare.
