Infested

Three Arab smugglers embark on a hunt for spiders in a vast Middle Eastern desert. During their search, one of the smugglers gets bitten after they douse a spider nest with poison gas, which leads to dire consequences.

After being bitten by a spider, the injured smuggler's fate takes a grim turn. His companion, in a panic and fearing infection, kills him with a machete to prevent any further threat.

The remaining smugglers drive off with their haul, while a single spider finds its way to Paris. Here, Kaleb, a sneakers dealer, unwittingly purchases the spider at a convenience store, leading to unforeseen chaos.

Back at his home in a multicultural suburb, Kaleb faces various personal issues, including conflicts with his sister over their mother's house. Meanwhile, he keeps the spider in his room, oblivious to the danger it presents.

At a farewell party for his neighbor Claudia, Kaleb gifts her earrings but loses track of the spider. The following day, his tensions escalate with friends over the renovation of their home.

After selling sneakers to his friend Toumani, Kaleb discovers that the spiders have infested the shoes. Moments later, Toumani is bitten and tragically dies in his apartment as Kaleb fails to respond in time.

The authorities arrive, sealing off Toumani's building, which sends the residents into a panic. Accusations fly as Gilles suggests that Toumani's death was due to a drug overdose linked to Kaleb.

As the situation worsens, spiderlings emerge when Jordy kills a spider in the bathroom. Kaleb admits complicity in the infestation, revealing a cocoon of spiders that have reproduced rapidly.

The group, now desperate, devises an escape plan but face violent resistance from Gilles, who believes they are drug dealers. When he forces open the boxed spiders, he is attacked by the creatures, escalating the chaos.

The group cautiously journeys through an infested hallway, using quick bursts of light to stave off the spiders. They are later confronted by police, resulting in a frantic and dangerous escape.

In a selfless act, Mathys, who has also been bitten, sacrifices himself by charging into the infested area, creating a massive confrontation. The remaining group uses the distraction to attempt their escape.

Kaleb, having been untied by Lila, searches for his sister and is relieved when he finds her despite being shot in the leg. They reconcile their differences in the face of looming danger from the spiders.

With Lila's car lights inadvertently illuminating the path, Kaleb and Manon manage to escape a significant spider threat. They leave behind a chaotic scene as they flee from the imminent danger.

In the aftermath of the chaos, Manon and Lila watch with tears as their suburban neighborhood collapses. Kaleb finds closure by burying a shoebox containing a photo of him and his childhood friend.

In a moment of reflection, Kaleb gently holds a spider that crawls on his shoulder. He decides to release it, symbolizing a bridge between his past and present, and a hope for moving forward.
