In the Spider’s Web

A venomous spider bites Geraldine during the forest hike. The group decides to seek medical help from Dr. Lecorpus, who lives with a tribe in the jungle, and he treats Geraldine with the aid of his brother.

Gina, John, and Phil return to civilization with Geraldine as Brian and Stacey stay with the natives. They plan to visit a forest temple while Geraldine heals, setting up parallel storylines.

Brian and Stacey accompany the natives to a forest temple, but they become separated during the visit. Stacey is attacked by a swarm of spiders, wrapped in webs as danger closes in.

Gina, John, and Phil reach the village and go to the police station, where Sgt. Chadhri agrees to investigate. Chadhri enters the woods and spots Lecorpus with natives near a helicopter, but Lecorpus' brother disarms him and forces him back toward the village.

Chadhri decides to investigate the temple and is soon attacked by Lecorpus' brother, who drives him deeper into the temple corridors. The encounter raises the stakes as danger closes in on the investigator.

Gina and John worry when Chadhri does not return, while Phil travels to a bigger village. They witness a strange ceremony in which Stacey, still wrapped in webs, is injected with venom and carried toward the temple by Lecorpus' brother as natives attack to rescue her.

Gina finds Stacey and learns she is alive but paralyzed rather than dead. Lecorpus appears and confirms the shocking truth; Gina and John rush into the temple to follow Stacey, but they are separated in the chaos.

Phil discovers a newspaper in the bigger village suggesting Lecorpus illegally harvests organs. Gina and John recover Stacey's camcorder and find Brian alive, but he dies soon after, revealing the grim fate awaiting travelers.

Gina, John, and Chadhri locate an underground operating room where Lecorpus, his brother, and the natives harvest organs from victims. The venom is used to preserve the organs during transport, and they free Stacey before escaping the operating room.

The quartet runs through twisting tunnels pursued by Lecorpus' brother and natives, setting a fire in a tunnel to slow them. They use spider webs to cross a massive chasm, with Chadhri going first, then Stacey, then Gina.

As John attempts to cross the web, the structure collapses and Gina is left hanging. She swings to confront Lecorpus, throwing him into the webs where spiders swarm and kill him, ending his threat.

Gina, Stacey, and Chadhri escape the temple but Lecorpus' brother attacks them. Police officers led by Phil arrive and shoot him dead, securing a momentary victory. John remains trapped inside the temple, still tangled in webs.

Phil reunites with Gina and Stacey to break the grim news that Brian and Geraldine are dead. They inform the police that John is still inside the temple, trapped among the webs as the film moves toward its end.

Sometime later, Gina returns to the village while Chadhri reports that Stacey is recovering and that efforts to find John continue. The film closes on John, completely encased in spider webs inside the temple.
