Nicholas Angel, a standout officer in the London Metropolitan Police, achieves an impressive record of 9 commendations in just 12 months. His extraordinary work ethic and commitment to law enforcement make him a formidable figure in the police force.

After a conspiracy among his colleagues, Nicholas is reassigned to Sandford, a rural village celebrated as 'Village of the Year.' This unexpected relocation frustrates his ex-girlfriend Janine, who feels that he should prioritize personal connections over his job.

Upon his arrival, Nicholas Angel quickly bumps heads with the local pub owners, Mary and Roy Porter, while enforcing laws against underage drinking. His strict adherence to the law raises tensions within the community.

During his first night on duty, Nicholas makes multiple arrests for petty crimes, including drunken driving and vandalism. Among those arrested is Danny Butterman, a fellow officer whose easygoing nature becomes a point of interest for Nicholas.

Finally offered a return to London following a rise in crime there, Nicholas surprises everyone by choosing to remain in Sandford. His decision is influenced by his evolving connection with the village and his partnership with Danny.

One year after the events, Nicholas has been promoted to Inspector and is now in charge of the Sandford police force. Together with Danny as his Sergeant, they embark on new adventures, committed to protecting their quirky village.
