Hobo with a Shotgun

The unnamed hobo arrives by boxcar into the city of Hope Town, stepping into a place marked by graffiti and a grim welcome sign reading 'Scum Town.' He surveys the streets and senses the town is ruled by The Drake and his brutal sons. The mood hints at a city spiraling under crime and fear.

The Hobo wanders the suburbs and spots an amateur filmmaker shooting a Bumfights-style movie with homeless people. The scene exposes the town’s cruelty and the sensationalization of suffering. He quietly processes what he’s witnessing and what it says about Hope Town.

A bloodied Logan, The Drake’s younger brother, races through the streets screaming for help. The Drake’s men corner him and label him a traitor before brutally decapitating him with a barbed-wire noose attached to a moving car. The crowd witnesses a brutal display of the town’s tyranny.

The Drake and his sons orchestrate a public spectacle, executing Logan in a violent roadside display. The move demonstrates their control and willingness to use fear to keep order. The crowd reacts with a mix of horror and resignation.

Begging for change to buy a lawnmower, the Hobo follows a trail of abuse and sneaks into The Drake’s nightclub. Inside, he witnesses the brothers torturing and killing homeless people in arcade-style games. The night deepens as violence becomes the town’s normal rhythm.

Slick harasses a boy named Otis while Ivan snaps Otis’s arm; Abby defends Otis with courage. The Hobo intervenes, knocking Slick unconscious and dragging him toward the police station. It’s the first burst of direct action against the Drake's enforcers.

At the police station, the Hobo learns of corruption and complicity in criminal activities. The police chief and the brothers carve 'scum' into his chest and throw him into a garbage bin, where he meets Abby who helps him recover. The system that should protect the vulnerable has betrayed him.

The next day, the Hobo goes to the filmmaker and endures a series of degrading acts, including chewing glass, to earn money for a lawnmower. After collecting the funds, he heads to a pawn shop where a trio of robbers hold a woman and her baby hostage. He grabs a shotgun and eliminates the threat.

With money in hand and righteous rage, the Hobo systematically targets and kills dozens of criminals across town — the filmmaker, a pimp, a coke lord, and a pedophile dressed as Santa Claus. His actions ignite The Drake’s fury and destabilize the city’s order. The line between justice and vengeance becomes blurred.

The Drake, furious at the Hobo’s bloodied crusade, summons The Plague — Rip and Grinder — two armor-clad demons who begin stalking the town. They slaughter hospital staff and hunt for the Hobo, turning the city into a battleground. The threat escalates from human violence to otherworldly menace.

The Drake’s crew hijacks a school bus and slaughters fourteen children who had befriended hobos. They burst into a TV station and kill the anchorman during a live broadcast to announce a mass purge of the homeless. The violence propagates fear and chaos through the town.

As Abby walks home, a cop attempts to rape her; the Hobo kills him and Abby smuggles him past a crowd in a shopping cart covered with the cop’s remains. Otis then informs Slick and Ivan of what happened. The pair becomes fugitives in a city that wants them dead.

Back at Abby’s apartment, the Hobo reveals his plan to leave town and start a lawnmowing business. Ivan and Slick burst in, wounding Abby; the Hobo overpowers Slick and forces Ivan to retreat. Slick dies later when a burning school bus erupts in the background as part of the Drake’s purge.

While Abby recovers, The Plague slaughters hospital staff and eventually captures the Hobo to deliver him to The Drake for a public execution. The town’s last glimmer of order collapses as the demons close in on their quarry. The landscape of Hope Town has become a fortress of fear.

Abby arms the crowd, rallies the townspeople, and confronts The Drake. Abby kills Grinder and the Drake is fatally wounded when the Hobo proclaims 'You're riding shotgun' and shoots him. The police open fire on the crowd, sparking a chaotic shootout in which the Hobo dies and Abby’s screams echo through the town.
