Hell of a Night

At a college costume party, Peter Bennett prepares to initiate four pledges into Alpha Sigma Rho. The pledges are Jeff Reed, Marti Gaines, Denise Dunsmore, and Seth Davies. Peter locks the pledges behind the estate's iron gates to begin their overnight initiation. The mansion and grounds set a claustrophobic, ominous mood.

During the night, May West and Scott Zamboni are murdered by an unseen assailant during the staged scares. Peter Bennett later discovers Scott's body on the mansion roof. A second assailant then murders Peter in the hedge maze, intensifying the sense that danger stalks the grounds. The killings escalate the nightmare for everyone involved.

Denise Dunsmore vanishes amid the confusion of the night. May West's severed head is found placed on Denise's bed, amplifying the horror and fear among the remaining pledges. The discovery confirms that the danger is personal and lethal.

Seth, alarmed by the disappearances, warns Marti and Jeff about the danger. The trio decides to flee the grounds to seek help from authorities. They attempt to escape the estate through the gates, hoping to bring help before it’s too late.

Jeff investigates a strange light within the hedge maze and follows it to a shocking find. The light is Peter's flashlight lying near his body, confirming that someone else lingered in the maze. The discovery heightens the sense that the killer is still close and watching.

Back at the mansion, a figure attacks the pledges in their bedroom. Jeff wounds the attacker with a pitchfork, and the assailant disappears. They uncover a rug-triggered trapdoor and descend into damp tunnels beneath the house, seeking safety and answers.

Inside the tunnels, Denise's corpse is laid out at a table with the preserved remains of Garth's family. The grim tableau confirms the mansion's dark history and the killer's brutality. Fear and urgency rise as the group realizes the depth of the horror surrounding them.

Seth heads to the local police station begging for help, but the officers dismiss him as part of a prank. Frustrated, he steals a shotgun from the station and carjacks a vehicle to continue the pursuit. He drives off into the night, trying to confront the danger head-on.

Seth returns to the mansion and shoots Morris Garth. Jeff and Marti encounter him in the foyer, trying to process what’s happened. Before they can react, Andrew kills Seth and begins pursuing the couple back toward the bedroom.

Andrew continues the pursuit as Jeff urges Marti to escape through a window. Before Jeff can follow, Andrew hurls him out the window, killing him. Marti, now on the run, makes a break for safety, fleeing toward the hedge maze.

Marti enters the hedge maze and finds Peter's corpse, a grim reminder of the danger inside. She pries the gate keys from his fingers, arming herself with the means to escape. The keys become her last tool against the deadly trap around the manor.

Marti escapes in Seth's stolen vehicle and drives toward the fallen gate, using the chaos to break free. She crashes through the gate and impales Andrew on the spikes, ending the immediate threat. As the sun rises, she emerges from the car and begins to walk away from Garth Manor, finally free but forever marked by the night’s horrors.
