Freezer

Robert wakes bound inside a meat locker and quickly cuts himself free. He studies the sealed space and tests his chances of escape as the door remains shut and cold air bites at his skin.

Two Russian mobsters, Kiril and Stepan, enter to question him. They barely speak English and insist on finding out where the money is, threatening him with death if he doesn't reveal something. Robert maintains his ignorance, hoping to buy time for a plan.

Robert discovers a ringing cell phone on the floor and talks with Detective Al Dorian, who mistakes him for someone else and tries to trace his location. He explains he was dining with his girlfriend for his birthday before being knocked unconscious and dumped here. The call is cut off when the mobsters return and destroy the phone.

Alisa arrives with the others and accuses Robert of stealing eight million dollars, demanding its return under a four-hour deadline. They search the locker and confiscate his shoes, intensifying the sense of entrapment. Robert continues to deny involvement while trying to read the situation.

While wandering around the junk and boxes, Robert stumbles on a severely wounded detective Sam Gurov hidden on a shelf. Sam explains he was an undercover cop targeting Oleg and warns that Robert won’t be allowed to leave alive unless he plays along. Robert hides Sam again, realizing the danger surrounding both of them.

To stay alive, Robert bangs the fire extinguisher against the cooling fans and tries to disrupt the machinery. The noise buys him a little time, but the mobsters return and reassert control. He clings to hope that Sam’s information will spark a way out.

Sam explains that after a failed hit, Oleg shuffled his fortune and the eight million disappeared. He volunteers to switch clothes with Robert to fake being his ally and create an escape opportunity. Robert, pressed by time and betrayal, decides to reveal the truth about the money, but Sam is killed soon after.

Upon waking, Robert tricks Alisa into believing Stepan is the thief and acts innocent, but Kiril is killed with a meat hook. Stepan overpowers him and locks him back inside while Alisa reassesses the situation. Robert dons Kiril's clothes and keeps searching for a way out.

Stepan and Alisa return and Robert tries to contact Dorian, hoping he can locate the money. Stepan ends the call and splashes him with water to taunt him, underscoring the knife-edge nature of their situation. The tension thickens as hypothermia takes its toll.

A bound Russian man named Danil is dumped into the room and promises to help Robert escape for a cut of the loot. Robert tells him to cut the shaft wires, but the mobsters arrive and Danil is electrocuted. Alisa reveals Danil was a ruse, actually Vadim, Oleg's son, sent to extract truth.

Oleg arrives and identifies Robert as the assassin who failed to kill him. After Robert reveals the truth, a fight breaks out and Oleg is ultimately killed by Alisa, who is revealed to be Robert's inside ally. Stepan escapes and drags Alisa away, locking the pair inside again.

Robert and Alisa bide their time as Stepan leaves, then Robert uses the heated rack to warm their hands and loosens bindings. Dorian arrives and demands to know where the money is, while Alisa finally confesses it has been inside the meat locker in the boxes of cuts. As Dorian is distracted, the couple burn through their zip ties and escape.

They hitch a semi-truck to the freezer and drive toward a port, carrying the money and Dorian inside. They load the container onto a cargo ship, and Alisa presents a literal birthday prize—a box of cuts filled with cash. They drive off toward a warm vacation, leaving Stepan for dead in the bay.
