Erica becomes involved in a controversial incident that is recorded by her friends. The video leads to an extortion attempt and highlights Erica's underage status, creating pressure around her family life. The event foreshadows her later vigilante behavior.

Erica and her companions frequently trap individuals they perceive as predatory, acting as self-styled enforcers. Their actions are tied to raising money to help bail Erica’s father out of jail, where he awaits trial for a casino robbery attempt.

Laurie, Erica’s mother, isn’t bothered by Erica’s promiscuity but is disappointed by her new boyfriend Bob. Bob’s 18-year-old son Luke returns from rehab to live with the Vandross family.

Erica and Luke form a complicated friendship as she begins to involve him in her schemes. He is at first reluctant but the bond between them deepens over shared troubles.

At a bowling alley, Luke experiences a severe panic attack when he sees his former teacher Will Jordan, whom he had accused. Will was never charged due to inconsistencies in Luke’s claim.

That night, Erica intervenes when Luke attempts to take his own life. Her intervention marks a turning point as they continue with plans against Will.

Erica and her posse decide that Will will be their next target, and Luke reluctantly agrees to participate in the scheme.

The group pursues a new trap aimed at Will, first at the grocery store and then at the bowling alley. Erica engages with Will in a car moment, but stops short, leading her friends to accuse her of sabotaging the plan.

To facilitate their plan, Erica arranges contact with a drug dealer to obtain sedatives so they can lace a beer and trap Will. The scheme hinges on Will’s vulnerability and the group hopes to leverage it for blackmail.

Erica visits Will with a six-pack and they spend time at his house. The sedative takes effect, and Will weakens; Luke intervenes, knocking Will onto a glass coffee table and the group moves to carry him to the couch.

The four of them prop Will on the couch while two members photograph the scene to use for blackmail. They leave convinced they have moved past the immediate danger, but a grim clue remains in their wake.

The next morning, Will is found dead, and the Eiffel Tower model used in the trap becomes a chilling clue. The Vandrosses flee the area as law enforcement becomes involved.

While on the run, Luke reveals that the molestation claim was false and that he lied to protect others. He then drives Erica toward safety, hinting at a shared future if they can survive the fallout.

Luke drives Erica to her father’s prison and gives her bail money, only to learn that her father had already been bailed out days earlier and hadn’t contacted her.

They decide to return home and surrender, but a police pursuit forces them to fight for escape along a dirt road. During the chase, Luke confesses his love for Erica, and the two are eventually captured. A month later, Erica visits Luke in prison just before her house arrest begins, and they remain hopeful and in love.
