Flight of the Living Dead

Barbra is shaken to the core after witnessing her brother’s brutal death and the initial onslaught. She drifts between fear and stubborn resolve, becoming a wary, pragmatic survivor who seeks safety in the farmhouse cellar but remains psychologically scarred.

Johnny is Barbra’s brother, impulsive and loud, whose bravado quickly collapses under the horror. His death at the cemetery early in the siege triggers the group’s urgent need for protection and shelter.

Ben becomes the de facto leader of the sheltering group, coordinating defenses and planning to reach a rescue center. He uses whatever tools he finds, including a lever-action rifle, to keep ghouls at bay and to try to guide others to safety.

Harry is skeptical about staying aboveground and initially clings to the cellar plan, showing protective but stubborn traits. He shows a reluctance to trust outsiders but ultimately becomes a casualty of the siege.

Helen is Harry’s wife who shares the fear of the unknown. She is part of the farmhouse group and endures the siege alongside Barbra and Ben, facing the collapse of social norms.

Karen is Harry and Helen’s young daughter who is bitten by a ghoul and becomes ill, later turning into a ghoul herself. Her arc embodies the cost of the crisis and the tragedy that comes with transmission of the disease.

Tom is a fellow survivor who joins the group’s attempt to refuel at a pump. He dies in the explosion when their plan backfires, highlighting the precariousness of every decision in a collapsing world.

Judy is Tom’s companion, whose involvement in the escape plan ends with the same disastrous result as Tom’s, underlining the human cost of every choice made in the face of annihilation.
