Lilli Funke, a German auditor, travels to Mallorca to visit her younger sister, Valeria, known as Valle. There she learns that Valle is engaged to Manu Chassée, and the couple are planning to open a B&B together. Valle has inherited €40,000 from their mother, money that had been earmarked for Valle’s university education, and she also hopes to sell a family property in order to fund the venture. Valle’s sister owns part of the same property, and she is not keen on selling it. Meanwhile, Nick Unterwalt, a real estate investor, offers €900,000 for the parcel, which would dramatically alter the plans.

In a bustling Mallorca nightclub, Lilli Funke meets the club’s bartender and manager, Tom Sommer, and the attraction between them quickly grows into an affair. The tension between the sisters deepens as Valle and Manu push to acquire the uncle’s property for their B&B. Manu’s supposed occupation at Hotel Mirabelle is questioned; Lilli learns he claims to have been made redundant after a change in ownership. As financial pressures mount, Lilli’s trust in Manu wavers, especially when a tentative appraisal of the property comes in and the plan to accept Unterwalt’s offer seems viable.

A water pipe at the house is found to have been tampered with, suggesting someone is trying to sabotage the deal. To uncover the truth, Lilli visits Bea, Manu’s ex-girlfriend, who reveals that Manu has cheated Valle out of large sums before and is now working to do the same to Valle. Lilli confronts Valle with this information, but Valle remains doubtful and hopeful about Manu’s promises.

Through Nick Unterwalt’s circle, Lilli learns the property intended for the B&B is not actually for sale, and that a luxury resort project is planned for the site, with investors already lined up. The discovery is a devastating blow: the financial stakes are far larger than €900,000, and the true ownership of the land appears to be tangled in corporate maneuvering.

During Unterwalt’s eight-year-old daughter’s birthday party at his estate, Lilli stumbles into a tense scene with Manu, Valle, Tom, and the appraiser, recognizing that a larger scam is at play. She confronts Unterwalt with the reality that the property is worth much more than the offered sum. Tom, whose real name is Tobias Winter, leaves traces that hint at a more complex cover story: a hidden folder on his laptop contains photographs of Lilli and Valle, and an envelope bearing his true name shows in Tom’s belongings. Tom insists that not everything was a lie, leaving Lilli with more questions than answers.

As Valle’s doubts about Manu grow, she seeks out Bea again and finds Bea dead in a bathtub, with police leaning toward suicide as the presumed cause. The revelations escalate when Unterwalt’s wife, Girasol, under pressure, tries to force Lilli to sign the purchase agreement. Manu issues a direct threat with a gun, and it becomes clear that Girasol is manipulating the two men to achieve her own ends.

In a dramatic turn, Tom manages to disarm Manu and, together with Lilli, leaps off a cliff into the sea. The authorities arrest Manu and Girasol, bringing a fragile sense of justice to the chaos. A year later, Lilli returns to Mallorca to find Valle running a newly established B&B, and she reunites with Tom, hinting at a possible continuation of their complicated relationship.

The story unfolds with a cool, restrained tone that keeps the focus on trust, deception, family ties, and the precarious balance between love and greed. The Mallorca setting adds sunlight and shadow to the emotional currents, while the characters’ interwoven motives reveal how far people will go to secure money, security, and a place to belong.
