Alma Burton [Marta May] is on the brink of divorce from Mark Burton, the owner of a Vermont marketing company. She was meant to be sent to a New York mental institution for treatment, but a last‑minute change at the airport sends her to Barcelona instead.

In the Spanish city, a bus‑bound tour group of American travelers—Paulette Stone [Martine Brochard], Lisa Sanders [Mirta Miller], and Naiba Campbell [Ines Pellegrini], among others, including several wealthy entrepreneurs—explores the city’s sights. The mood shifts when a local woman is brutally murdered by a killer in a red raincoat who gouges out her left eye. Soon after, an attractive American named Peggy becomes the killer’s next victim, spreading fear through the travelers.

Aging Inspector Tudela [Andrés Mejuto], just a week from retirement, steps in to lead the investigation with his capable younger successor. For now, the police have little to go on, and suspicion falls on members of the tour group, turning every traveler into a potential culprit. Mark Burton enters the scene with his secret mistress Paulette Stone, and he begins to fear Alma may be involved again, recalling a past moment when he found her with a bloody knife and an eye in her hand—a memory he kept to protect their marriage.

As the mystery deepens, Lisa Sanders is murdered, but not before she manages to snap a incriminating photograph of the killer—Paulette. Naiba interrupts another assault, preventing Paulette from mutilating her victim this time, yet the murders continue, and the number of tourists dwindles.

The investigation culminates in a dramatic confrontation: the killer is caught red‑handed, and in the presence of Naiba and Mark, Inspector Tudela fatally wounds Paulette with a knife. It is revealed that Paulette’s missing left eye stems from an childhood accident, providing the motive behind her gruesome acts.

In the film’s closing moments, the younger inspector congratulates Tudela on solving the case within a week, while Mark makes a conciliatory phone call to Alma, offering another chance to repair their fractured marriage.
