April uses fireworks to lure the aliens away from the cabin, hoping to save Kyle. However, the aliens immediately respond to the fireworks and abduct her instead - the same way they previously took Lex. The fireworks inadvertently signal her location to the extraterrestrials, making her an easy target.

Foreshadowing: Earlier, Seth's fireworks caught Sheriff Murphy's attention during the drive to the cabin, establishing that pyrotechnics draw unwanted attention.

After April and Kyle escape from the alien spaceship and return to Earth, they encounter US Army soldiers at the UFO crash site. Without hesitation, the soldiers open fire on them and later dispose of their bodies in a pit before incinerating them. This confirms Travis's theory that the government is actively covering up extraterrestrial existence by eliminating any witnesses.

Foreshadowing: Travis's explanation about the secret treaty and government cover-up foreshadows this brutal outcome.
