Everly

Everly, portrayed by Salma Hayek, is a woman caught in a deadly game as she tries to escape from the clutches of her ruthless boss, Taiko, played by Hiroyuki Watanabe. Working as a prostitute for Taiko, she finds herself in grave danger when he uncovers her secret alliance with the police aimed at dismantling his criminal empire. As the merciless enforcers invade her apartment, Everly faces the horrifying reality of betrayal, but she refuses to remain a victim.

During the chaos, she escapes to her bathroom, where she reveals a hidden cell phone stashed away in the flush tank of her toilet. In a desperate attempt to signal for help, she phones Detective Robertson, only to find that he declines to assist her, leaving her alone in a harrowing situation. Realizing that she must rely on her own wits, Everly uncovers another hidden gun and, against all odds, fights back against her attackers, eliminating them even after sustaining a serious gunshot wound to her abdomen.

In a sinister twist, Taiko taunts her over the phone, revealing that he is aware of her deceit and has already killed Detective Robertson. He escalates the stakes by threatening her family, particularly her daughter Maisey, promising to subject her to a life of exploitation if Everly does not comply with his demands. As she navigates this nightmarish world, Everly tries to reach out to her mother, Edith, played by Laura Cepeda, to warn her of the impending dangers. However, Edith’s steadfast refusal to abandon her daughter results in a series of desperate attempts to reunite, which culminate in chaos as more of Taiko’s henchmen arrive. Everly’s fight for survival sees her hiding the bodies of her enemies and cleaning the evidence of the bloodshed to shield her family from the horrifying truth.

Amidst relentless attacks, Everly comes to terms with the fact that there may be no escape. A surprising confrontation with The Sadist, played by Togo Igawa, leads to brutal torture scenes that test her limits. Yet, even in moments of profound agony, she finds the strength to battle back, unearthing her hidden resolve.

In an ultimate clash, after witnessing the tragic death of her mother, whom Taiko brutally punishes as a means of revenge, Everly manages to turn the tide. Armed with a mixture of courage and desperation, she exacts revenge on Taiko, ultimately stabbing him with his own weapon in a defining moment of catharsis and retribution.
