Terano, the young clan member who was presumed dead after falling from a building, actually survives and ends up in New York, carrying with him a few coins and a message of hope. Kei, the contract killer, believes that she has lost him forever after she thinks he’s dead, but the ending reveals that Terano is alive and well, watching over her from afar through a small gesture—sending her a picture of a cheesecake and a photo of New York, both symbols of their shared dreams.
