Cadet Andrew 'Ender' Wiggin displays remarkable skills in simulated space combat. Colonel Hyrum Graff and Major Gwen Anderson take notice of his exceptional performance, setting in motion his critical training journey.

Ender undergoes a significant change when Graff and Anderson remove his monitor, symbolizing his full integration into the Academy. This event marks the beginning of his independent training, free from parental oversight.

Ender faces retaliation from Stilson, a rival cadet he previously defeated. In a moment of self-defense, Ender seriously injures Stilson, leading to a burden of guilt that he confides to his sister Valentine.

Ender is unexpectedly whisked away to Battle School, leaving behind the familiar safety of Earth. There, he finds himself amidst fiercely competitive peers and begins to realize the gravity of his mission.

In the zero-gravity Battle Room, Ender excels but is isolated due to his unusual talents. His innovative strategies soon gain him both admirers and enemies among the other cadets.

Ender is assigned to Salamander Army, commanded by Bonzo Madrid, who resents him. However, fellow cadet Petra Arkanian offers her support, providing Ender with much-needed training and collaboration.

Ender engages in a complex mind game that tests his decision-making skills. A haunting interaction with a Formic and memories of his siblings complicate his emotional state, pushing him toward deeper introspection.

Promoted by Graff, Ender leads his own squad, using creative tactics that astonish his superiors. This new responsibility further heightens tensions with Bonzo, who feels threatened by Ender’s rising status.

Following a critical victory, Bonzo confronts Ender in a restroom. Their skirmish results in Bonzo sustaining serious injuries, filling Ender with regret and prompting thoughts of leaving Battle School altogether.

Graff introduces Ender to Mazer Rackham at a forward base on a former Formic planet. Mazer recounts his past encounter with the Formics and the strategic importance of targeting their queen during the upcoming assault.

Ender undergoes relentless training with advanced simulations, even as concerns arise regarding the pressure placed on him. Time is of the essence as he prepares for the final assault on the Formic home world.

In a climactic simulation, Ender commands a fleet vastly outnumbered by the Formics. He makes a tragic decision to sacrifice his forces to defend the vital Molecular Detachment Device, believing it to be just a game.

Ender is horrified to learn that the simulation was real and he ordered the destruction of the Formic home world. Despite being hailed as a hero, he grapples with the enormity of his actions, feeling the weight of guilt and loss.

In a heartfelt letter to Valentine, Ender expresses his remorse and reveals his intention to journey into deep space with the surviving Formic queen egg. His hope is to create a new world for the Formics, seeking to make amends for the destruction.
