Clara Wood is forcibly expelled from the local brothel run by Miss Hattie after turning down a vile request from Buck. Feeling abandoned, she seeks refuge in the Starlight Hotel, unaware of the horrors that await her.

Clara arrives at the decrepit Starlight Hotel, hidden deep in the eerie swamps of rural Texas. She hopes to find safety but is soon confronted by the hotel's unhinged proprietor, Judd.

Clara's situation worsens when Judd attacks her with a pitchfork. After the shocking assault, she is forced to flee outside, plunging directly into the danger lurking in the swamp.

In a tragic turn of events, Clara falls prey to Judd's pet Nile crocodile lurking in the swamp’s murky depths. This encounter marks the beginning of a series of horrifying events that follow at the hotel.

Days later, a distressed couple, Faye and her husband Roy, along with their sick young daughter Angie, check into the Starlight Hotel. Their arrival sets off a chain of dread that will engulf the family.

The family's dog, Snoopy, meets a gruesome fate at the jaws of the crocodile. This loss amplifies the tension within the hotel and hints at the lurking dangers surrounding them.

Overcome by rage, Roy confronts the crocodile in an attempt to avenge Snoopy. Tragically, his efforts are cut short when Judd brutally ends his life with a deadly scythe.

In a sinister twist, Faye finds herself restrained by Judd, who now sets his sights on their terrified daughter, Angie. The atmosphere in the hotel grows darker, filled with despair.

Harvey Wood arrives searching for his missing daughter Clara, accompanied by his daughter Libby. Their desperation leads them to ask Miss Hattie and Judd for help, but they are met with deception.

Despite being warned of the dangers, Harvey ventures back into the Starlight Hotel to rescue Faye. Tragically, he meets his end at the hands of Judd’s merciless blade during his rescue attempt.

Buck makes a surprise reappearance with his underage girlfriend, Lynette, which aggravates Judd further. Buck's cries for help ultimately lead Judd to shove him into the swamp to become another victim of the crocodile.

In the chaos, Lynette flees into the woods, pursued by the menacing Judd. Just as she faces imminent danger, a car appears through the fog, granting her a narrow escape from her fate.

Libby returns to find Faye and Angie in dire straits. With quick thinking, she frees Faye and manages to rescue Angie from a precarious position beneath the porch, igniting hope amidst chaos.

As Judd relentlessly pursues Libby, Faye, and Angie deeper into the swamp, an unforeseen turn of events occurs when the crocodile claims Judd in a grotesque finale. His dark reign of terror comes to a shocking end.

As the film reaches its conclusion, a chilling reminder of Judd's fate lingers ominously in the air. His prosthetic leg emerges from the swamp, serving as a haunting token of his dark and tragic story.
