Along the way, she forms a friendship with a Swedish traveler, who connects her with a private tutor, enriching her experience as they celebrate Thanksgiving together.

Next, her quest leads her to India, where she resides in an ashram, dedicating herself to spiritual growth through prayer and humble service, including laborious tasks like scrubbing floors. There, she encounters ‘Texas Richard’, who presents her with both challenges and support during her stay. As her time in India draws to a close, Liz continues her journey onward to Bali, where her experiences take another turn.

In Bali, she reconnects with Ketut, a local healer, who assigns her various responsibilities that encourage her journey of healing. While cycling, she unexpectedly meets Felipe, a charming Brazilian man, which leads to her seeking care from Wayan, a healer after sustaining an injury. During her recovery, she meets Armenia, who encourages Liz to immerse herself in local village celebrations. It is here that Felipe apologizes for their initial encounter, leading to an innocent conversation that ignites a captivating connection between them.

Despite Armenia’s intentions of introducing Liz to someone else, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to Felipe, and they begin to spend more time together, culminating in Liz organizing a fundraiser for Wayan’s house, raising an impressive $18,000 USD. When Felipe proposes to her, Liz initially accepts, yet as they escape to a remote locale, the weight of commitment overwhelms her, prompting her to call off the engagement.

Before leaving Bali, Liz finds herself seeking wisdom from Ketut, who encourages her to embrace love courageously. Inspired by his words, she rushes to Felipe, professing her love for him. In this moment of vulnerability, Liz discovers the serenity of inner peace and realizes the authenticity of true love, leading her to a profound awakening she never expected.
