The keys to the scheme fell apart when the women unexpectedly found the bizarre contents during their road trip. This led to a series of chaotic events—including their kidnapping, murders of some criminals, and ultimately, a confrontation with Senator Channel himself. Channel attempts to kill Jamie and Marian, still seeking the plaster cast of his compromised physique, but is stopped by Sukie, a cop and Jamie’s ex-lover who arrives just in time to shoot him. The commotion causes the briefcase to break open publicly, exposing the adult toys and plaster casts, which sparks a scandal that destroys Channel’s political career.

In the end, Jamie and Marian, now in a loving relationship, decide to settle down together. They drive toward Massachusetts, where lesbian marriage is legal, feeling free and validated in their love. Their journey—the chaos, the danger, and the absurdity—has led to a new chapter built on trust and affection.
