Die Hart 2: Die Harter

Kevin Hart feels frustrated as he is not being offered any action film roles. Producers pigeonhole him into a specific genre, restricting his opportunities and creativity in the film industry.

In a bid to impress Debra Simon, Kevin orchestrates a staged fight scene in a restaurant. He hopes that by showcasing his moves, he can convince her to give his action script a chance.

After the staged fight, Kevin presents Debra with his action film script. However, Debra remains unimpressed and reiterates her desire for him to do a sequel to a previous film instead, leaving Kevin discouraged.

Devastated by Debra's rejection, Kevin insists she take his script with her. To his horror, he later sees Debra tossing it into a trash can outside the restaurant, showcasing her lack of interest.

Kevin receives a call from Karl Stormberg, a supposed European director interested in casting him for an action thriller. Eager for the opportunity, Kevin becomes excited about the impact it could have on his career.

Kevin's assistant, Andre, expresses concern about Karl Stormberg's legitimacy, pointing out that he cannot find any information about him online. Kevin, feeling defensive, dismisses Andre's worries, insisting on pursuing the chance.

Kevin's excitement turns to horror when he realizes that Karl Stormberg is an impostor with nefarious intentions. The situation escalates as Kevin falls into a trap set by those who harbor resentment towards him.

After being hit with a dart, Kevin wakes up tied to a chair in a facility. He discovers that Jordan, a friend from a previous film, is also a captive, and they begin to realize the gravity of their situation.

Kevin and Jordan manage to escape their captivity after realizing that their lives are genuinely in danger. The duo embarks on a mission to uncover who is behind their abduction.

Following their escape, Kevin investigates Karl's office but finds it abandoned. A VHS tape reveals the audition footage of the actor who played Karl, and shortly after, a bomb in the office prompts their hasty exit.

Kevin reunites with his loyal assistant Andre in a parking lot. Despite being fired, Andre had waited for Kevin's return, demonstrating his dedication and loyalty, even sharing a personal story that prompts reflection.

Jordan confronts Kevin about his past treatment of those around him. As he reflects on his relationships, Kevin recognizes how his previous actions have distanced him from valued friendships and support.

In a flashback, Kevin recalls firing his dedicated stuntman, Doug Eubanks, out of insecurity. Unbeknownst to him, that decision has led Doug to harbor resentment and plot against him.

Kevin learns that his life has been taken over by Doug, who has been posing as him. Determined to reclaim his identity, Kevin must confront Doug, leading to a dramatic face-off in a desperate bid to restore order.

After a thrilling confrontation where Kevin fights both Doug and a dangerous associate, Andre gets injured but saves Kevin's life. In a twist, it becomes evident that Doug may still be at large, leaving Kevin's fate in jeopardy.
