During a sunlit weekend in a lavish family home in Tepoztlán, a wealthy young man, Cristobal, hosts a sprawling house party with his circle of friends. A driver ferries him to the estate, weaving past a chorus of protesters whose grievances feel distant from the glittering scene inside. Cristobal’s hippie sister, Elisa, has already taken over the grounds with a crew of drug-addled friends from places as far as Brazil and Japan, turning the property into a messy blend of music, revelry, and tension. The two branches of their world—privilege and counterculture—slip together around bottles of alcohol and shared smoke, masking deeper fractures beneath a carefree surface.

Inside, a quiet unease threads through the party as the household’s groundskeepers and their grown-up ward, Adan, mingle with Cris, creating an uneasy dynamic as Cristobal barks out orders and Adan keeps a steady, wary distance. Dolores, an Argentine guest whose family fled financial troubles, becomes the focal point of a growing rivalry between Cris and Adan. Cris also worries about his own life beyond the party: his girlfriend Mafer is calling non-stop, and he must confront the news that he didn’t get into Harvard—an outcome his father had hoped for, a disappointment that compounds the weekend’s mounting pressures.

A football match in the garden becomes a flashpoint for the escalating tension: Cris deliberately fouls Adan, a bold, bitter gesture that reveals the underlying rift between them. As the party intensifies, Cris and Dolores grow closer, sharing a kiss that soon collides with Mafer’s relentless calls and Cris’s own anxieties about his path and family expectations. The night erupts into a crowded, electric rave; Elisa, riding an ecstasy trip, winds through the garden and finds Adan perched in a tree on the perimeter, observing the chaos below. She leans in for a kiss, but the moment spirals as she begins to overdose. Cris intervenes, bringing her into the house and directing blame toward Adan, sparking a hostile confrontation that ends with Cris overpowering him in a heated exchange—he lashes out, calling Adan an Indio, a deeply painful slur that cuts to the core of their racial and class tensions.

The group discovers she has been given three pills by one of the partygoers, and the decision is made to send everyone home. Mafer arrives, furious that Cris had been flirting with other women while she was trying to reach him, and the mood sours even further. A mobile phone rings in Cris’s pocket—it’s his father—but he chooses not to answer and instead bursts into tears. What follows is a single, disastrous day: Cris faces Harvard rejection, loses both his girlfriend and Dolores, and watches his sister’s overdose cast a shadow over the family. The seeds of a deeper rift with his parents take root, and Adan’s presence across the weekend is reframed as a stark reminder of the divisions that separate them all.
