Devi

Devi, a Nagini from Nagaloka, comes to Earth on the day of a solar eclipse to perform a special pooja with her friends. Nagaloka's rule requires them to return home before the eclipse begins or their powers are lost until it ends. Devi becomes distracted by the scheming Dantra, a punished naga who looms as a threat.

Dantra imprisons Devi with fire while the eclipse unfolds, cutting her off from the others who hurry back to Nagaloka. The imprisoned Devi battles the flames and tries to hold onto her mission as power drains from the group left behind. The eclipse casts a shadow over Devi's effort to begin the pooja on Earth.

Suseela's father intervenes to aid Devi and frees her from Dantra's trap, paying with his life in the process. Devi survives the act of courage and vows to honor his sacrifice by protecting Suseela. Dantra's threat remains as Devi fights to regain her strength.

Moved by the heroism around her, Devi decides to mend the rift between Suseela's family and Raghava's. She engineers a marriage between Suseela and her cousin Raghava, and soon the two begin to fall in love. Devi's intervention begins the long process of rebuilding trust across generations.

The feuding families reconcile through Devi's intervention, culminating in the wedding of Suseela and Raghava. The union strengthens bonds and signals a new era between Nagaloka and Earth. Devi watches over the couple as their future unfolds.

Suseela becomes pregnant, bringing joy to the families. Dantra, aided by another evil, imprisons Devi and attacks Suseela, threatening the happiness Devi is trying to preserve. Devi's absence allows danger to loom over the newborn's future.

Suseela gives birth to a son, but the birth time is deemed inauspicious and threatens Raghava's life. Devi uses Nagadeva's power to resurrect the baby after a fatal fall, restoring the family's hope. The child survives as Devi's powers withstand the eclipse's danger.

At the naming ceremony, Dantra reveals that the infant's birth at an inauspicious time may still imperil Raghava's life. Devi postpones her departure to Nagaloka so she can safeguard the family and ensure the child's safety. The looming threat forces new sacrifices from the kin.

To secure long life for Raghava, Suseela performs the Ashta Lakshmi poojas. They learn of a Durga pooja in the Himalayas that could shield Devi from Dantra's curse, but the Ashta Lakshmis declare that only a member of Suseela's family can perform it, complicating Devi's role. The plan creates a dilemma about who will undertake the sacred rite.

Devi agrees that Suseela should perform the home Durga pooja for nine days, then leaves for the Himalayas herself. She quickly marries Vijay in a rush, keeping the marriage a secret from him as she starts her dangerous journey. The decision sets her on a path that will test her loyalties and powers.

Devi reaches a Durga shrine high in the Himalayas to complete the nine-day ritual as the final day coincides with a solar eclipse. Dantra traps Vijay and compels Devi to leave the temple, draining her power as the eclipse begins. The stage is set for a crucial confrontation between light and dark.

On the final day, Devi completes the pooja, but Dantra arrives at Suseela's home disguised as Raghava. When Durga does not appear, Devi sacrifices herself by burning, only to be resurrected by Durga who helps her vanquish Dantra. Vijay and a friend help save Raghava, completing the climactic struggle.

With the evil defeated, Nagadeva returns Devi to Vijay, signaling that she is no longer an unmarried Nagini and can live with her chosen partner. Devi's journey ends with a blessing that unites her fate with humanity.
