Kat Boyles, a struggling stand-up comedian, is approached by Graham Billings, a detective sergeant of the Metropolitan Police. He is looking for talented improv actors to assist in low-level sting operations, recognizing Kat's unique skills in improv as valuable for his investigations.

To form a team for the sting operation, Kat recruits two of her students: Marlon, an aspiring drama actor, and Hugh, a nervous IT worker. Although both are not ideal choices, they reluctantly agree to join her on this unusual mission.

Billings briefs Kat, Marlon, and Hugh about a rise in counterfeit cigarette sales and sends them undercover to a tobacco store suspected of illicit activities. The trio faces an unexpected turn of events when they are drawn into a larger criminal world.

While at the store, the group is put in a precarious situation when they are introduced to Fly, an underground supplier. They convince him of their criminal expertise, but their situation escalates when they are asked to transport stolen cocaine from a rival gang.

The operation takes a dangerous turn when members of an Albanian gang confront them, demanding their stolen drugs. Kat cleverly initiates an auction for the drugs, leading the Albanians into buying back what was originally theirs, surprising everyone involved.

As their operation unfolds, Kat, Marlon, and Hugh adopt new identities: Bonnie, Roach, and The Squire, respectively. They are tasked with asserting their newfound roles in the criminal underworld under Fly's guidance.

In a mission to intimidate a client named Sagar, the trio's actions lead to unforeseen consequences when he attempts to flee and is fatally struck by a van. They take a photo of Sagar and steal his cash, inadvertently gaining a notorious reputation among law enforcement.

Fly is impressed by the trio's audacity in taking out a known criminal and invites them to celebrate his birthday. During the celebration, Fly reveals personal aspects of his life, adding a surprising depth to their relationship.

Metcalfe, Fly's boss, learns about their operation's growing complications and warns them about the heightened tensions with the Albanians. He sends them to rendezvous with K-Lash to procure more drugs, leading to further troubles.

After a disastrous meeting with K-Lash, Kat and her team discover that Billings has been manipulating them for his own gain. He reveals his dirty cop status, blackmailing them into further criminal activities to shield themselves from arrest.

Following Billings' murder at the hands of Shosh, Kat, Marlon, and Hugh find themselves forced to dismember his body under Metcalfe’s orders. This gruesome task reveals the dark depths of their predicament and the stakes at hand.

As Fly and Shosh prepare to kill the trio, they unexpectedly spare them, giving the trio a chance to escape. They plan to go into hiding, realizing that their lives have flipped upside down in the world of crime.

With law enforcement inching closer, Kat devises a plan to go undercover again, this time posing as cops to gather evidence against Fly and Metcalfe. They hope to secure Fly's freedom in exchange for their testimony.

In a final confrontation, Kat and her team interrupt a critical drug deal between Metcalfe and the Albanians. Chaos ensues, but they manage to rescue Fly just before the police raid the operation, bringing a swift climax to their harrowing ordeal.

The trio's unexpected success in dismantling criminal operations leads to their promotion within the police force's ranks. Each of them starts a new chapter in their lives; Marlon auditions for acting roles, Hugh opens a wine shop, and Kat’s improv class flourishes with new students.
