The movie follows Shawn, a once-popular YouTube creator whose career takes a nosedive after a controversial stunt. In a desperate bid to reclaim his fame and satisfy his remaining sponsor, he decides to livestream a night spent in Death Manor, a house infamous for its ghostly legends and tragic past, where many have met their end.

At the beginning of the stream, Shawn cleverly disposes of his car’s spark plugs to prevent an easy escape, locking himself in by throwing the key into a grate. He begins by diving into the eerie history of the manor, revealing it to be haunted by Mildred Pratt, a troubled heiress who took her own life after the loss of her lover. Shawn theorizes that the spirits of the manor, particularly Mildred, are trying to recreate the family she never had.

As he explores the dimly lit corridors, Shawn introduces viewers to various rooms, including a so-called ‘safe room’ devoid of reported paranormal activity. However, his sense of safety is short-lived as he discovers a peculiar symbol in the closet, which he ultimately destroys out of fear. In a quest for thrills, Shawn attempts a séance but is interrupted by Chrissy, an overzealous fan who sought out the haunted locale to meet him. Caught off guard but eager to entertain his viewers, Shawn lets her stay, even as their investigation leads to finding Mildred’s poetry book, which Shawn ridicules as uninspired.

During their spirit board session, Chrissy encourages Shawn to recite a Latin phrase aimed at calming the restless souls. Their playful antics soon spiral into chaos when Shawn realizes he locked the door, raising suspicion of Chrissy’s intentions. An altercation ensues, culminating in Shawn believe he has fatally harmed her—though upon search, her body mysteriously vanishes, leaving him to confront chilling discoveries about the manor’s history entwined with Mildred’s cursed existence.

As terrifying apparitions from past victims haunt him, Shawn is pulled deeper into madness and despair, eventually resorting to desperate measures to escape. After a harrowing sequence of battles against spectral foes and realizing the connections between Mildred’s desires and his own need for an audience, he musters the courage to face his adversary.

In a pivotal moment, with the stakes rising, Shawn concocts a plan to reclaim control. He navigates through the horrors to perform a ritual using a spare iPad—all while apologizing for his past misdeeds, including his often callous content, in a twist of redemption.

During an intense confrontation, when his reading of the incantation seems futile, a recollection strikes him using a severed finger as a ritual’s final touch—a shocking yet necessary sacrifice. With Mildred ensnared by a force unseen, Shawn believes he has triumphed, only to be met with the terrifying revelation of the remaining ghoul audience still at the manor as his livestream abruptly cuts off.

In the end, Shawn’s journey explores the depths of fear, redemption, and connection amid haunting ghosts, ultimately challenging him to reckon with his past and the fragile threads of life and legacy.
