1

Band's self-awareness and Arty's push

The Dead Girls are aware of their own limited musical talent and pushback against Arty's push for mainstream direction. They rely on on stage shock value, violent spectacles, and morbid lyrics to attract fans. This dynamic sets up the core tension between artistic integrity and commercial pressure.

2

Brooke's mass suicide attempt and Gina's return home

Brooke, Gina's teenage sister, participates in a mass suicide with other fans but survives the attempt. Gina returns to her hometown during the funerals and reconnects with her childhood friend Mike. Their families blame the band for inspiring Brooke's suicidal thoughts.

3

Arty is murdered before the trip

Before the group can depart for the cabin, Arty is murdered in his office by a skull masked killer. The killing removes the manager who wants to steer them toward radio friendly territory. The band proceeds with their plan to take a two week break for Gina's recovery.

4

Arrival at the cabin and a troubling reception

The group arrives at the remote cabin and meets Elmo, the developmentally disabled handyman who oversees repairs. Mark secretly brings a female groupie to the property, but she is forced to leave after discovering him with another woman. The uneasy welcome foreshadows that danger lurks nearby.

5

The groupie in the woods is killed

While wandering near the property, the masked killer murders the female groupie in the woods. The threat outside the cabin becomes real and immediate. The group begins to sense that they are being hunted.

6

Susie attacked at the lake

The next day Susie is attacked and drowned in the lake, and Gina discovers her body. She phones the police, but Susie’s body disappears and the sheriff suspects a prank by the band. Amy suspects that Susie is pulling a fake death on stage, complicating the investigation.

7

Jeff disappears and more bodies surface

Morning reveals Jeff is missing, and Gina and Amy discover Susie and Jeff's corpses in a barn on the property. Gina flees, trying to stop the nurse from departing with Brooke. The nurse leaves in the group's van but fails to reach the hospital, leaving the group stranded at the cabin.

8

Communication breaks down and suspicions rise

Gina attempts to phone the police but finds the lines cut. With communications severed, the group begins to turn on each other and Dana accuses Gina and Amy of being responsible for the killings. Fear and paranoia spread through the cabin as distrust grows.

9

Amy sets traps and is struck down

Amy, a military combat enthusiast, goes to set traps in the barn, hoping to catch the killer. The plan backfires as the killer strikes in the woods and dismembers her with an axe. The group realizes the danger is not just in the forest but inside the cabin itself.

10

Mark's return and Gina's escape attempt

Mark returns to the cabin with firewood, intensifying the tension. Dana urges Gina to leave the property on foot, but Gina stumbles upon Amy's corpse instead. The retreat turns into a desperate struggle for survival as trust evaporates.

11

Gina confronts Mark and the truth emerges

Gina goes back into the cabin and confronts Mark, ultimately killing him in a tense showdown. Dana then reveals that she and Mark had planned to murder Gina and Amy, fearing they were responsible for the killings and conspiring against them. The revelation shatters any remaining illusion of safety.

12

The killer strikes again; Mike is revealed

Before Dana can enact revenge, the masked killer appears and slashes her throat. Gina flees into the woods as Elmo’s silhouette haunts her. Mike arrives, bludgeons Elmo to death, and reveals that he is the true murderer driven by extreme religious beliefs.

13

The bomb and the nurse's decision to depart

Mike binds and gag Gina in the barn, which is now filled with all of the victims’ corpses, but trips Amy’s potassium nitrate bomb, killing himself. The nurse returns with Brooke and suspects the band left unannounced. She discovers Gina bound in the barn and decides to depart with Brooke, leaving Gina behind to die.
