The movie begins with the revelation of a serial killer in Northern Wales known as the Wedlock Killer, who targets young women, kills them brutally, and mutilates their fingers. The killer's pattern establishes a chilling tone for the story as the community remains on edge. The killer's presence is felt through reports and rumors, creating a sense of dread.

Laurie Wolf, a radio DJ, hosts her final show before her program is canceled. During her broadcast, she vents her frustration about the decline of local radio and decides to ignore corporate playlists, expressing her bitterness openly. The day marks a significant turning point for her emotional state and her career.

Ben Evans, Laurie’s engineer, suggests inviting psychic Carla Zaza to her last show, aiming to provoke some controversy and further annoy the station owners. Laurie, a skeptic, reluctantly agrees to the plan, setting the stage for supernatural elements to intertwine with the storyline. The broadcast begins with Carla's seance, hinting at paranormal activity.

Kate Komisarczyk speaks with Ben Evans over the internet, which upsets her boyfriend Nick Keller. Despite Kate's refusal to meet him in person, she continues chatting with Ben. Meanwhile, Nick grows suspicious of Kate's online interactions, warning her about the dangers of online friendships.

Kate falsely claims to her babysitter that she is visiting Ben for the radio broadcast, while in reality, she drives Nick to break into a mansion. Nick enters a mansion alone, with Kate acting as lookout, unaware of the supernatural danger lurking nearby. This decision introduces the element of imminent threat.

Kate encounters a bloody ghost in her car as she listens to the radio broadcast. Later, she is approached by an old man who claims to be a property owner. Her attempts to dismiss him fail as he insists on staying, raising suspicion about the supernatural presence linked to the killer's victims.

Nick calls Kate from the mansion but is suddenly murdered before he can explain. Kate explores the mansion and discovers Sarah's body, leading her to suspect a supernatural connection. The ghost of Sarah claims her death was caused by the Wedlock Killer, revealing her tragic story.

Kate is accused by Nick's father, Alan, of killing Sarah, just before the Wedlock Killer appears and kills Alan in a surprise attack. The Killer cripples Kate and leaves to retrieve her son, setting up the imminent threat of harm to her family. This scene heightens the tension and danger.

Nick, dying, gives Kate money and explains his desperation to steal from his family. Meanwhile, Marek becomes possessed by Sarah's ghost while listening to the seance, indicating a supernatural link. Kate rushes to the radio station to find her son and confront the killer's darkness.

Ben reveals himself as the Wedlock Killer through a recorded broadcast, having sabotaged evidence to hide his guilt. He kills Laurie and Carla to cover his tracks, exposing his murderous nature. Kate fights to free Marek and stop him from killing again.

Kate manages to revive after being knocked out and fights Ben. As he attempts to set her on fire, Sarah’s ghost appears, horrifying him and causing him to spill petrol on himself. Kate then uses a lighter to set Ben ablaze, killing him and ending his reign of terror.

With Ben dead, Kate frees Marek and escapes. Laurie’s final words on the broadcast question the existence of an afterlife and outright dismiss her earlier skepticism about paranormal phenomena. The movie ends with a reflection on life, death, and the supernatural.
