Dancer

Raja grows up as a talented yet struggling dancer in a poor family. His father Suraj is killed while trying to protect his wife Malti, who is subsequently imprisoned for the murder. The event shapes Raja's drive to prove himself through dance and song.

Raja performs with his friend Dattu accompanying on drums. He spots an audition ad for a famous auditorium and, despite initial rejection, participates and wins the first prize. This victory earns him attention and begins to awaken a fierce rivalry with the former prize winner Manish.

Manish, the previous prize winner, becomes Raja's main rival. He resents Raja's talent and success and views Raja as a threat to his status. The rivalry grows as Raja's star rises in popularity.

Priya, Manish's former dance partner, falls in love with Raja and becomes his dance partner. Her father, Rai Bahadur Brij Bhushan Sharma, helps them rise to fame across India. The duo's performances captivate audiences and bring them national attention.

After finishing her sentence, Malti is released from jail. Raja welcomes his mother back into his life as their fame grows. The family reassembly adds emotional weight to his journey.

Raja openly confesses his love for Priya. Malti agrees to meet Priya's father on Priya's birthday, hoping to secure their union. The forthcoming meeting sets in motion a clash with Brij Bhushan Sharma.

On Priya's birthday, Malti meets Brij Bhushan Sharma, who is revealed to be the stranger who attacked her and killed Raja's father. Brij Bhushan tries to placate them with a blank cheque, but Malti denounces him in front of the party attendees. Raja and his mother walk away, humiliated and furious.

The encounter near the temple leads to a dangerous sequence: someone overhears Raja and Priya's plan, and Raja is knocked unconscious by an assailant. Brij Bhushan orders Priya to marry Manish to end Raja's threat, and Priya initially agrees to avoid further torture.

Raja escapes from the room, while Radha escapes Brij Bhushan's custody alongside Priya. The pair seek to reclaim their freedom and return to the life of performance that first brought them together.

Raja and Priya take the stage for the promised program, determined to prove their love and talent. Brij Bhushan bursts in with his rowdies and the conflict escalates; Malti is shot at point-blank range, and Raja is knocked down by the crowd as chaos erupts.

Malti reveals Brij Bhushan is Suraj's killer, stoking Raja's fury. In the ensuing struggle, Raja defeats Brij Bhushan by hurling him onto an electric wire board, ending his threat for good.

With Brij Bhushan defeated, Raja and Priya finally marry, honoring Radha's wish. Radha had been shot earlier while trying to shield Raja from the bullets, leaving a poignant reminder of the costs behind their happiness.
