Thea and Louise are two friends known for their YouTube videos where they film themselves stealing various items. They hide their faces and defend their thefts as anti-consumerism, insisting they will donate any proceeds to charity. For their most ambitious stunt yet, they crash an artsy countryside film shoot, posing as caterers and grabbing whatever they can. They plan to plant cameras throughout the old manor used for filming, turning this heist into one of their largest scores to date.

Meanwhile, the film crew — including Emma, Matt, Grey, Tori, and Hattie — is busy filming while Hattie is sent to fetch food and drinks. They stop at a local store and learn that the village has a history of occult activity.

Back at the manor, the two would-be thieves set up their cameras, but Louise notices something is off. They discover an iPad the crew has been using as a video journal for their client. The footage initially seems harmless but quickly grows disturbing, culminating in Emma accidentally stabbing Grey to death with a dagger found in the house. Refusing to treat it as anything other than a prank or scripted footage for the commercial, Thea decides to investigate the noises upstairs, while Louise continues to watch the footage, watching Matt appear to become possessed before he dies as well.

As terrifying paranormal phenomena unfold, Emma and Tori flee to an upstairs bedroom while a robed figure chases them. A television in the room flicks on, showing old footage of an anthropology student who came to study the house’s occult history, tied to the original owner—a druid who sacrificed women to gain power. The student is slaughtered by the chanting robed figure, driving Emma to leap from a window to her death. Louise also sees footage that Thea was attacked by the robed figure and that the bodies of Matt and Grey have vanished.

Realizing that Tori is still alive, Louise ascends again and the two women make a break for it, but they become separated in the surrounding woods. Tori is eventually captured and slaughtered by the figure. Louise presses on and finds Thea, who is still alive, though the druid intends to sacrifice her. Thea begs Louise to run, but the plea goes unanswered, and the robed figure kills them both. The film concludes with Hattie returning to the house with supplies, where she is also slain by the same ominous assailant.
