Curse of Chucky

As Sarah Pierce’s enigmatic life is irrevocably altered, she receives a strange package featuring a doll that bears a striking resemblance to the infamous Chucky. Confounded, Sarah quickly discards the seemingly innocuous toy, but that very night, tragedy strikes—she meets an unforeseen demise caused by a self-inflicted wound from a pair of scissors.

In the wake of this disaster, Nica Pierce, Sarah’s daughter who uses a wheelchair, is joined by her elder sister Barb and her family, which consists of her husband Ian, their daughter Alice, and their live-in nanny Jill. However, what appears to be a simple family gathering quickly spirals into chaos as Nica and Barb grapple over the future of their cherished home, with Barb adamantly pushing for Nica to consider assisted living.

As the chilling events unfold, an unusual connection is forged between Chucky and Alice, who stumbles upon the doll hidden in an old trunk. Oblivious to the growing menace, the family remains in the dark when Chucky secretly poisons Father Frank, a guest at their home. His deteriorating health culminates in a tragic car accident, leaving local police officer Stratton to piece together the enigma surrounding the incident.

While the family reflects on happy memories via old home movies, Nica becomes increasingly aware of a sinister presence stemming from their past. When Alice misplaces Chucky, Nica retrieves the doll and hands it back to her daughter, unaware that Chucky has been secretly communicating with Alice. As Nica observes her daughter’s unsettling bond with the doll, she is compelled to investigate Chucky’s dark legacy, uncovering unsettling news articles and a haunting photograph of Charles Lee Ray, the man behind Chucky’s terrifying façade, which strikingly resembles images from their family archives.

As the tally of casualties escalates, Chucky expertly engineers a series of horrific incidents, such as the shocking electrocution of Jill during a video call with Barb. Barb ventures off to investigate the circumstances, but soon encounters Ian, who reveals he’s been spying on her through concealed cameras and has discovered her affair.

Nica’s attempts to warn Barb of the true nature of Chucky are met with accusations of collusion with Ian. Tensions heighten as Barb climbs into the attic, where she uncovers a shocking truth about Chucky—a deceptive face that hides gruesome stitches and wounds beneath its plastic exterior. In a terrifying turn, the doll springs to life, delivering a vicious blow to Barb that leaves her lifeless at Nica’s feet.

With panic rising, Nica hastily escapes; she attempts to awaken Ian, but he misjudges the situation, believing her to be the threat. Overwhelmed, Nica suffers a heart attack and loses consciousness. Upon regaining awareness, she finds herself bound within the very location her nightmare began.

Unbeknownst to Ian, who is engrossed in Chucky’s nanny cam footage on his laptop, the doll seizes the moment to strike, dispatching Ian in a chilling act of violence that seals his fate. Nica manages to extricate herself from her bonds and fights against her monstrous adversary. Although she is thrown from the balcony, she continues to resist.

When Nica confronts Chucky about his brutal past actions against her family, he recounts a horrific tale of obsession and betrayal. In 1988, he murdered Nica’s father and abducted Sarah, believing the latter had betrayed him. In a moment of sheer malice, he fatally stabbed the pregnant woman, leading to Nica’s life-altering paralysis. Even in death, his wicked spirit remained a malevolent influence.

Nica employs sharp wit in an effort to distract Chucky, momentarily gaining the upper hand by seizing his knife and plunging it into his chest. It appears she may have finally defeated the monster that haunted her for so long. However, Chucky’s unnatural endurance allows him to reanimate, settling into a chair like a vengeful apparition.

As Stratton arrives on the scene, Nica is wrongfully apprehended and taken to an institution, accused of the gruesome murders. Later, Stratton unwittingly delivers Chucky into the hands of a mysterious buyer, only to meet a gruesome fate at the hands of Tiffany Valentine. Her final act before vanishing is to send Chucky inadvertently toward Alice, who unsuspectingly welcomes him into her life.

In a chilling sequence, Chucky embarks on a dark and ancient voodoo ritual, intent on transferring his cursed soul into Alice’s innocent body. The stage is ominously set for a new chapter of terror as this monstrous entity begins its insidious rise.

In a gripping post-credits epilogue, we find Chucky aimed at Andy Barclay, now grown. However, Andy, ever resourceful, evades the menacing doll, unleashing a barrage of shotgun fire that finally delivers a blow that puts Chucky’s vile spirit to rest once and for all.
