The Cube is a massive, labyrinthine testing facility consisting of interconnected rooms with deadly traps. It functions as a high-security experimental complex where captives are subjected to deadly trials, with their memories and fates manipulated by an unseen authority controlling the system.

The Control Room is a distant monitoring station that oversees the Cube's operations. Technicians inside observe the captives through surveillance, dictate the rules and outcomes, and manipulate the testing environment, essentially acting as the unseen authority that controls the prisoners' fate.

The Control theme examines how an unseen authority forces captives into participation and punishes dissent. The film questions whether the subjects truly consent to the experiments or are simply pawns in a larger design, blurring the line between scientific testing and systematic punishment.

The Experimentation theme focuses on non-consensual human testing within the Cube, where subjects are wired into dream-recording deadly trials. The film questions the ethics of these procedures, showing how backstories are harvested to create traps and how even rescue attempts operate through a mechanized, impersonal system.

The Memory and Identity theme explores how dreams bleed into reality as memories are implanted, altered, or erased. Characters like Rains have their past mysteriously removed from files, while Wynn's brain is manipulated, suggesting that the characters' sense of self may be entirely manufactured by the facility.

Ryjkin is one of the captives trapped inside the Cube, portrayed by Jasmin Geljo. His fear of the acid-like spray highlights the deadly nature of the facility's traps. His backstory hints at some level of consent in the experiments, though his ultimate fate remains unresolved.
