Cruel Gun Story

Togawa is released early from prison thanks to Matsumoto's influence. Ito presents a plan to recruit a crew to rob an armored truck carrying the racetrack earnings, offering a share of the 120 million yen. Togawa is convinced when he learns his old partner Shirai will join the job.

Togawa and his former partner Shirai assemble the crew and recruit washed-up boxer Okada and heroin-addicted ex-cop Teramoto to complete the team. The group discusses the score and roles, laying the groundwork for the heist.

Before the robbery, Togawa visits his sister Rie in the hospital and expresses guilt for her accident. She urges him not to blame himself and asks him to stay on the right path, giving him a rosary as a reminder.

Togawa asks his friend Takizawa to watch over Rie should he be unable to protect her himself. Takizawa warns him against continuing with the plan, trying to deter him from going back to crime.

Teramoto poses as a police officer and uses fake accident signage to divert the armored truck off the main road. Togawa shoots out the outriders so the truck stops, and the crew moves to extract the cargo. The plan hinges on a clean getaway on a deserted route.

Because the drivers refuse to exit, the crew loads the armored truck into the winch truck with the drivers still inside. They retreat to an abandoned factory where Shirai is wounded when one of the dying drivers shoots him as they pull the truck.

Teramoto's girlfriend Keiko arrives, revealing she has been spying on the crew for Ito. Ito instructs Togawa and Keiko to stay at a nearby hotel overnight so they can be guided to the stash the following morning.

Back at the factory, Okada and Teramoto double-cross Shirai and beat him to steal the money. Togawa returns and kills them both to save Shirai, but the crew's trust is irreversibly broken.

Ito arrives with dozens of yakuza, triggering a massive shootout. Togawa and the wounded Shirai flee into the sewers to escape the assault, leaving the money behind.

The next morning, Takizawa and Keiko track Togawa and Shirai to a sewer outflow and confirm Shirai’s death. Togawa remains determined despite the danger.

Togawa hides at Takizawa's home and hatches a plan to kidnap Matsumoto's son Haruhiko to reclaim the loot and embarrass Matsumoto. Takizawa and Keiko urge him to flee the country instead.

Yanagida, head of a rival yakuza faction, offers to help recover the money in exchange for a cut. Togawa agrees to the plan and they kidnap Haruhiko, demanding 120 million yen.

At the ransom exchange, Ito defies orders and ambushes Yanagida’s crew, killing them and Haruhiko. Back at Matsumoto’s house, Togawa learns Ito has betrayed him; he shoots Matsumoto and escapes with the money.

Togawa shoots Ito in the final confrontation. Keiko is accidentally killed by Ito during the confusion. Takizawa, though wounded, shoots Togawa in the chaos, and a fire erupts, consuming the money and bodies as Togawa dies clutching his sister’s rosary.
