In 1969, a disillusioned teenager named Jamie is consumed by J.D. Salinger's novel, The Catcher in the Rye. Seeking connection and understanding, he decides to find the reclusive author. This journey leads him to a free-spirited young woman named Deedee, and together they explore themes of adolescence, first love, and the search for personal identity while Jamie adapts the novel in his own way.
