Seema's father, a career military officer, relentlessly pushes her toward arranged marriages with fellow servicemen. After another failed match, Seema decides she cannot comply and flees Mumbai. She travels to Goa to live with her uncle Chiku, who wants her to marry a civilian.

Seema arrives in Goa to live with her uncle Chandrakant 'Chiku' Ranjan, who wants her to marry a civilian rather than a military officer. Her arrival sets up a new life away from the city’s expectations. In Goa, she starts building a life with her uncle’s idea of a civilian future.

Sid, Jai, and Omi live in a rented Goa apartment and accumulate big debts to Joseph Furtado and Miss Josephine, who run a local cafe. They spend their days plotting ways to earn money and to charm Seema at every opportunity.

Omi sneaks into Seema's house to impress her but is clumsy with the dog and ends up in her bedroom. He and the others later lie about what happened, misrepresenting the night to their friends.

Jai also breaks into Seema's house, hoping to claim a romance with her. Seema's grandmother confronts him, beating him up and forcing him to flee.

Sid bumps into Seema during a chance encounter over lunch and the two hit it off. They begin dating, sharing laughs and getting to know each other in Goa.

Jai and Omi tell Sid that Seema isn't a good girl and try to break them up. Sid pretends to beat up his friends to impress Seema, a theatrical fabrication that is revealed later as their imagination.

Despite the scheming, Sid and Seema's romance continues to blossom. Jai and Omi persist in trying to separate them, while Seema remains unaware of the full extent of their plots.

In their attempts, Jai and Omi maneuver to bring Joseph and Josephine together, hoping to use their union to their advantage. The couple does come together, but Joseph and Josephine refuse to forgive the trio for their lies.

Sid and Seema break up after the repeated manipulations, and Sid drinks in heartbreak. Seema grows frustrated as the relationship dissolves.

Omi and Jai discover a poison bottle in Sid's drawer and fear he has committed suicide; they realize their mistake and vow to help reunite Sid and Seema. The incident underscores how their lies have harmed others.

Seema's grandmother proposes a filmi plan: Jai and Omi pretend to kidnap Seema while Sid rescues her. The ruse paves the way for Sid and Seema to reconnect.

Seema's uncle backs Sid as a suitable match, while Seema's father arrives with objections. Sid convinces them that every military officer was once a civilian, and the brothers are convinced to let Sid and Seema marry.
