Camp Blood

A masked clown ambushes Sally and Victor as they make love in the Camp Blackwood woods. The killer slashes Victor with a machete and chases Sally through the trees, leaving her terrified and on the run. The scene abruptly cuts to the opening credits, signaling the enduring threat of the clown.

Tricia, Steve, Jay, and Nicole set out on the road toward Camp Blackwood, attempting to put Sally's disappearance behind them. Steve convinces Tricia that the trip will be fine despite newspaper reports. They drive off together in Jay's car, heading to the notorious camp.

A nutty local named Bromley Thatcher scolds the travelers for polluting the countryside and warns them about the clown legends around Camp Blood. He grudgingly offers directions but makes it clear he doesn’t trust outsiders. His warnings plant seeds of unease about what awaits at the camp.

The group arrives at Camp Blackwood and meets Harris, a blunt, observant guide who seems preoccupied with Nicole. Harris appears to watch the group with a mix of interest and suspicion. Tricia asks about the clown and the camp’s odd nickname, but Harris claims ignorance about both.

During a campfire, Harris recounts the old legend: twenty years earlier, Stanley Cunningham killed his girlfriend Marylou and her lover Nathan, wearing a clown mask and disposing of them at the camp. The police recovered the bodies weeks later, but Cunningham disappeared. Locals claim the clown still roams the woods, though the tale comforts as a cautionary ghost story.

The group wakes to find Harris's burnt corpse near the campfire, a grisly sight that shatters their confidence. Tricia is rattled by the possibility that the clown story is true and that danger stalks them in the woods. Steve tries to keep everyone calm and rational in the face of fear.

With Harris dead, the group contemplates leaving, but Nicole sprains her ankle, forcing them to carry her. The delay leaves them exposed to whatever roams the forest, heightening the tension as they prepare to navigate back toward the road. The sense of being watched persists as they move.

The clown materializes and launches a brutal assault, leading to a violent fight where Steve dies from machete blows. He manages to incapacitate Tricia momentarily with intimidation as the clown carries Nicole away. Jay is forced to retreat, overwhelmed by the chaos around him.

Nicole manages to escape the initial attack off-screen but is later found dead after an accidental stabbing by Jay, who has lost control in the terror. The clown then appears and snaps Jay’s neck, killing him as fear and confusion overwhelm the group.

Tricia returns to the road with Thatcher and confronts the danger, while Thatcher attempts to chloroform her. In a flash of chaos, he drives the car toward the clown and seems to kill it by accident, giving the survivors a momentary false sense of safety.

Grief and anger fuel Tricia as she takes the machete from Thatcher and hacks him to death. The death is abrupt and brutal, marking a drastic turn in the survivor's fight for life. Tricia’s mind reels from the violence she has witnessed and participated in.

In a shocking turn, Tricia confronts the dead and the living, ripping away the clown’s disguise to reveal Harris as the killer. Harris’s blood stains Tricia’s hands and Jay’s car, but the truth of the deception leaves Tricia unsure what is real and what is superstition.

Despite being unmasked, Harris reappears wearing the clown mask, continuing the murderous rampage. Tricia strikes again, killing Harris as the illusion of the clown persists, leaving her battered and terrified. The line between legend and reality blurs as the truth finally emerges.

Tricia escapes in Jay’s car, but the drive is interrupted by a chilling hallucination—the clown appears in the backseat and begins to choke her. She fights to stay conscious, racing toward safety and sanity while the specter of the clown looms.

Four days later, Tricia awakens in a padded room while a doctor and detective question her about the victims. She insists Harris was the clown, but the detective reveals they found Harris Stanley’s blood on Tricia’s hands and Jay’s car, not a live clown. The authorities suggest she might be insane, leaving her to confront a reality where the town’s Camp Blood legend may have been a deception.
