While nursing a drink and thinking back on his past adventures on Gor, Professor Tarl Cabot Urbano Barberini is joined by Watney Smith Russel Savadier, a fellow professor with a keen interest in romance but little success in pursuing it. As they ride to the next drinking spot, Cabot’s ring activates, thrusting both men across space to Gor. The Elder Alex Heyns initiates the teleportation using a rose quartz called the Home Stone, driven in part by suspicions that Xeno Jack Palance, the priest, has his eye on the throne.

Cabot is overjoyed at the prospect of reuniting with his lover, Talena Rebecca Ferratti, and Koruba welcomes him back with relief. At a grand feast that evening, Marlenus Larry Taylor announces he will soon step down and bequeath the throne to Cabot. Lara Donna Denton, Marlenus’s ambitious wife, schemes to seize the crown for herself and enlists Xeno to help, while she quietly secures an alibi from Watney.

Lara’s plot intensifies as she moves to remove Marlenus and frame Cabot for the murder. Talena believes in Cabot’s innocence, but the guards take him into custody, forcing Cabot and his diminutive ally Hup to flee. Lara and Xeno grow wary of Cabot’s potential threat as a hostage, and their uneasy alliance begins to fray, each suspecting the other of betrayal even as they double‑cross one another in a bid to secure power for Lara.

In a brutal pursuit, Cabot, Talena, Hup, and Watney are captured and cast into a dungeon when a cunning Hunter is unleashed to finish Cabot. The four resist as Lara’s grip tightens and Xeno’s plans falter. The ending shifts under a blaze of accusations: Watney reveals that Lara was the true killer of Marlenus, a claim the Hunter accepts, and Lara falls to a spear sent by the guards. With Lara dead, Cabot and Talena are finally crowned King and Queen of Koruba.

The coronation marks a new chapter, and the couple prepares to seal their bond. Yet Cabot’s ring suddenly glows with a warning he cannot ignore, hinting at a potential return to Earth. Instead, Watney finds himself the one sent back, stepping onto a busy road where he is soon arrested for jaywalking, leaving Cabot and Talena to rule Gor from the throne they now share.
