Butt Boy (2019) Timeline Explained – Every Event in Order

Chip's behavior begins after his first prostate exam at the clinic, which he strangely enjoys. The experience triggers a fixation on his rectum as a source of pleasure and power. It starts with a bar of soap in the shower and escalates to various objects, eventually developing into his supernatural ability to absorb people.

Foreshadowing: The prostate exam scene directly sets up Chip's later obsession with rectal stimulation and his eventual transformation.

Chip's rectum develops a powerful suction ability that allows him to pull objects and eventually people inside him. The power grows progressively stronger throughout the film, culminating in his ability to consume humans entirely. This supernatural transformation occurs as Chip continues his escalating ritualistic behavior.

Foreshadowing: Early scenes show Chip inserting increasingly larger objects, hinting at the extreme capabilities his body will develop.

Chip absorbs both Andrew Lee and Rocky the dog, along with Russel's unknown son (the baby taken from the park). Inside Chip's body, they exist in a cramped, dark environment with limited air and food. Russel finds them trapped inside Chip's bowels, where they count days on the perseverance plaque and receive minimal sustenance from a Vicodin-administering therapist.

Foreshadowing: The disappearances occur after Chip's rectal experiments escalate, connecting his new ability to the missing persons.

Russel is assigned to Chip as his mentee in Alcoholics Anonymous by mentor Nelson Guerrera. Chip is supposed to sponsor Russel (the new member), but their roles become reversed as Russel, a detective, investigates Chip while also struggling with his own alcoholism and personal issues. The sponsor-mentee relationship is meant to help Russel recover, but it becomes complicated by the investigation.

Foreshadowing: Nelson assigns Chip to sponsor Russel, establishing their codependent dynamic that drives much of the investigation.

The perseverance plaque is a company award that goes missing from the RTM office and ends up inside Chip along with the missing children. Russel uses it as a makeshift calendar, scratching marks on its back to count the days of their captivity. It becomes their only tool for tracking time in the dark, cramped environment inside Chip's body.

Foreshadowing: The plaque vanishes during Bring-Your-Kids-to-Work Day, just before the children disappear.

Chip does not actually die. During the awards ceremony, Russel triggers a massive flatulent explosion that splatters Chip's body across the stage and bunting, but his torso and head remain intact. Chip is seriously injured but survives. His son Marty and Russel emerge relatively unscathed from the chaos, and Chip later reunites with his family.

Foreshadowing: Russel's plan involves using the potent stomach elixir to create an explosive reaction from within Chip.

Anne remains with Chip despite his increasingly disturbing behavior, though her feelings evolve from contempt to reluctant acceptance. She becomes pregnant early in their marriage and appears trapped by circumstance and dependency. Even after learning about Chip's horrific acts and the danger to children, Anne ultimately reconciles with him at the end, accepting his return despite everything.

Foreshadowing: Early scenes show Anne's growing contempt for Chip, yet she continues to maintain the household and eventually accepts his heroism narrative.

Andrew Lee is trapped inside Chip's body along with Russel's son and Rocky the dog. The children endure harsh conditions with limited food and fresh air. Their escape attempt is sabotaged when Chip consumes a potent stomach elixir that fatally scalds Andrew, killing him. Andrew's death effectively ends their escape plan.

Foreshadowing: The escape plan involves Andrew and Russel's son using soap as a lubricant, but Chip's consumption of the elixir prevents their freedom.

During the laser tag birthday party confrontation, Russel attempts to kill Chip but his enhanced physiology proves too powerful. Chip's rectal suction becomes so strong that Russel is forcefully drawn inside Chip's body, just as he feared would happen. This occurs during their direct confrontation at Marty's birthday party.

Foreshadowing: Russel had previously tried to shoot Chip, and the scene foreshadows the physical vulnerability of confronting Chip directly.

The computer disc contains incriminating evidence that Chip failed to hide during an argument with Anne. Russel discovers it while pretending to defecate at Anne's dinner table and obtains it as leverage. Chip pursues him and ultimately sucks the disc into his own rectum to prevent Russel from using it as evidence. Russel eventually retrieves it at the end and hands it to Chief Lazarra to close the case.

Foreshadowing: The disc represents the key evidence connecting Chip to the missing children case.
