Bloody Hell

Rex, a veteran in Boise, Idaho, visits a local bank with the intention of flirting with a teller named Maddy, whom he has a crush on. He cleverly navigates the long line to ensure he's able to speak with her when she is free, showcasing both his boldness and his interest in her.

As Rex is attempting to ask Maddy out on a date, a group of armed robbers bursts into the bank, creating chaos as they demand money from the registers and the personal belongings of the customers. In the midst of this crisis, Rex instructs Maddy to escape, demonstrating his protective instincts.

During the robbery, Rex discovers a firearm inside another customer's open purse. He grapples with the moral and ethical implications of using the weapon to defend himself and others, which highlights his internal conflict about violence and protecting innocent lives.

In a series of intense flashbacks, Rex displays remarkable courage as he single-handedly takes down the armed robbers one by one, ultimately leading to a devastating accidental death of a bystander named Angela. Rex, reflecting on his life choices, decides to escape to Finland after a humorous moment with a spitwad landing on a map. This decision symbolizes his yearning for a fresh start, albeit based on an arbitrary choice.

At the airport, Rex captures the attention of fans and an ominous Finnish couple that hint at something sinister. Despite a sense of foreboding surrounding his flight, he boards it, oblivious to the dangerous path ahead.

Upon arrival in Finland, Rex is abducted after being gas-sedated in a taxi. He awakens in a dark basement, bound and missing a leg, confronted with the horrific reality of his captors who have sinister intentions involving cannibalism.

Rex encounters a young boy named Olaf, who inadvertently becomes part of Rex's desperate plan to escape. This interaction serves to highlight Rex's moral struggle, as he contemplates using Olaf to negotiate his freedom.

Alia, Olaf's sister, reveals to Rex the true nature of her cannibalistic family and her own struggles against their violent tendencies. Their bond deepens as they both share stories of their traumatic pasts, hinting at a potential alliance.

As Rex is incapacitated again, we glimpse flashbacks depicting the chaotic events of the bank robbery. He recalls the moment of the gun discharge that resulted in an innocent woman’s death, reinforcing his guilt and the complexity of his situation.
