Police inspector Silvestri arrives to investigate the murder and begins questioning people at the fashion house. He interviews Massimo Morlacchi, who co-manages the salon with the recently widowed Countess Cristiana Cuomo. The early interviews reveal tense personal dynamics among staff and hint at hidden vices.

Silvestri questions Isabella's ex-boyfriend Franco Scalo, an antique dealer. The interview uncovers Franco's cocaine use and shows that Isabella had been trying to help him kick his habit. These details suggest personal motives may be connected to the killer.

Isabella kept a diary detailing the staff's personal lives and vices. Nicole, Scalo's current lover, finds the diary and promises to give it to the police, but Peggy steals it during a fashion show. The diary becomes a coveted key to hidden secrets.

Nicole visits Scalo's store to supply him with cocaine and is stalked by the killer. She is slain with a spiked glove, and the killer searches her purse and corpse for the diary but cannot find it. The murder intensifies the police's urgency and suspicion.

Marco visits Peggy's apartment offering protection, but Peggy refuses. The killer confronts Peggy, beats her, and writes a notebook demand for the diary's location. Peggy explains she burned the diary in her fireplace because it contained abortion details, provoking the killer's rage.

Silvestri arrives and takes Peggy to another location, where she is tied to a chair and interrogated. The killer presses for the diary and identity, while Peggy remains frightened and defiant. During the ordeal, Peggy unknowingly reveals nothing that stops the killer.

Peggy pulls off the mask, revealing the killer's identity, and is burned to death using a furnace. The brutal murder underscores the killer's merciless resolve. The diary remains missing, deepening the mystery.

Greta, another model, discovers Peggy's corpse stashed in the trunk of her car. The killer smothers Greta to death in the fiancé's mansion, continuing the pattern of brutal killings. The body count rises as the investigation tightens.

With Peggy and Greta dead, Silvestri releases all the men from custody while re-evaluating the case. The force reassesses who could be involved now that key victims are gone. The investigation shifts toward uncovering the true motive behind the spree.

Morlacchi and Cristiana discuss their murder spree, revealing Isabella, Nicole and Peggy were killed, while Greta was killed by Cristiana to provide an alibi for Morlacchi. The hypersexualization of the killings is identified as a red herring, masking their real motives. Isabella had discovered their earlier murder of Christiana's husband and tried to blackmail them.

Cristiana calls Silvestri for help, then collapses next to Morlacchi's body. The killer's spree ends with her downfall and the unraveling of the scheme. The case closes with the inspector acknowledging the complex motives behind the murders.
