Big Bad Wolf

Scott Cowley and his guide are hunting in the Cameroon jungle when they receive a radio call from Scott's brother Charlie about his own guide missing. The call is interrupted by horrific animal sounds suggesting an attack. They set out to help, but they soon fall prey themselves, and Charlie eventually finds Scott fatally wounded.

Derek lives with his mother Gwen and his abusive stepfather Mitch. Derek plans to use Mitch's cabin for a weekend party with classmates, taking advantage of Mitch's planned work trip. That night, a werewolf attacks the cabin and brutally murders four partygoers; Derek and Sam manage to escape.

Scarred by the massacre, Derek and Sam tell authorities they didn't see the attacker, fearing disbelief. They become tight-lipped, choosing to conceal the truth as investigators begin to piece together what happened. The incident plants seeds of doubt about who the killer really was.

With the attacker still unknown, Derek and Sam suspect Mitch due to his obsession with Gwen. They resolve to gather evidence that could prove his guilt, aware that a credible accusation would require DNA proof. They begin to plot how to obtain that evidence without tipping Mitch off.

When Charlie unexpectedly visits, Derek and Sam confide in him and are surprised to learn he believes them. Charlie explains he once suspected Mitch as the werewolf because of his fixation on Gwen. He cautions that an accusation needs DNA evidence to be credible.

Mitch catches Sam snooping in his room and coerces her into a sexual act to obtain a DNA sample. The encounter strains Derek and Sam's relationship as the possibility of Mitch's guilt intensifies. The scene demonstrates Mitch's controlling and dangerous behavior.

Mitch has been stalking Charlie and steals a package addressed to him, uncovering the DNA test results. The discovery gives Mitch a tool to manipulate others and to bolster his denial or framing. The stolen DNA becomes the missing piece in the werewolf mystery.

Mitch abducts Charlie and reveals he can shapeshift at will, without needing a full moon. He brutally kills Charlie, blaming the loss on his own meddling. The murder confirms the true killer is Mitch and not the anonymous attacker at the cabin.

Derek eventually locates the DNA report and uses it to confront Mitch about Charlie's death. The confrontation exposes Mitch's guilt to Gwen and Derek and strains the family further. The crisis pushes them toward a final tipping point.

Gwen decides to leave Mitch, realizing the danger he poses. The separation leaves Derek with a new sense of responsibility and places him in direct opposition to a dangerous, empowered adversary. The family unit collapses, fueling the path toward the final confrontation.

Mitch kidnaps Sam and forces Derek to meet him at the cabin alone. The plan brings the survivors back to the infamous site, setting up the final showdown. The mounting tension culminates as Derek prepares to face Mitch without backup.

Mitch transforms and attacks a new group of youths who have converged on the site, until only Derek and Sam remain. They fight him with silver weapons and manage to set him on fire, burning down the cabin in the process. Derek and Sam escape, with the shared trauma and danger of the curse looming closer than ever.

As Mitch dies, he tells Derek that the curse is now his. Sam comforts Derek, promising to stand by him whatever happens. The couple drive off together on Sam's moped, stepping into an uncertain future.

In a post-credits scene, Mitch is shown moving his fingers slightly, hinting that the threat may not be fully gone. The scene teases that the curse could endure or resurface. It leaves Derek and Sam aware that danger remains even as they drive away.
