The movie begins by showcasing two powerful rival gangs in Chennai, led by Chinna and Periyavar, whose enmity results in frequent clashes as they vie for control over the city. The ongoing violence sets the stage for the intense conflict between the two factions. Tensions escalate as each gang attempts to weaken the other through violent encounters.

Periyavar's gang makes an attempt on Chinna's life, aiming to eliminate him as a threat. Chinna is saved at the last moment by Sekar, a courageous individual who intervenes during the attack. This act of bravery sparks a connection between Chinna and Sekar, hinting at Sekar's significance in the ongoing conflict.

Impressed by Sekar's bravery and resemblance to himself, Chinna befriends him and invites him to join his gang. Sekar reveals his admiration for Chinna since childhood and begins to follow him closely. Their alliance strengthens Chinna's position against Periyavar's gang in the city.

With Sekar's help, Chinna orchestrates a successful assault that overpowers Periyavar's gang in Chennai. Sekar earns Chinna's trust, and the two become close allies, further escalating their dominance in the city's underworld. Their victory deepens the rivalry with Periyavar.

Sekar and Chinna develop personal relationships—Sekar arranges Chinna’s wedding with Padma, whom he loves, despite Chinna's initial reluctance to express his feelings after becoming a don. Meanwhile, Sekar befriends Shalini, and their affection blossoms into love, adding a personal dimension to their lives.

A new police commissioner arrives with the mandate to curb the ongoing violence in Chennai. His focus is on apprehending Chinna and Periyavar, intensifying the pressure on both gangs. Sekar offers reassurance to Chinna, promising support and protection against the police crackdown.

Sekar plans to marry Shalini, but her parents oppose the union. Determined, Shalini elopes with Sekar, and he agrees to leave his violent life behind for a peaceful future. Sekar informs Chinna of his decision, who gives his blessing and financial support for Sekar’s new life.

Sekar and Shalini marry and move into a new apartment, seeking peace away from the gang conflicts. However, Chinna starts to miss Sekar terribly and worries about his absence, feeling the void left by his close friend and ally.

Chinna, on Saamy's advice, calls Sekar, but Shafi feigns that Chinna wants Sekar to rejoin the gang. Shafi then kills Shalini, leading Sekar to kill Shafi in revenge. Sekar rushes to Chinna, believing he had a hand in Shalini's death, escalating the tragedy.

In a dramatic confrontation, Sekar shoots Chinna, mistakenly believing Chinna aimed to kill him. Chinna, in turn, shoots Sekar, and the misunderstanding is revealed when Sekar sees a policeman hit by Chinna's bullet. Sekar then realizes the truth about the circumstances.

Sekar is devastated to discover he has killed Chinna, whom he loved and trusted. As the police surround them for an encounter, Sekar chooses a tragic end, drawing an empty gun and allowing the police to shoot him. He reflects on his memories with Chinna as he dies, overwhelmed by sorrow.
