Long ago, in a magnificent French kingdom, a self-centered Prince (Dan Stevens) lived lavishly in his castle, hosting extravagant parties for his fellow royals. One fateful night, an aging beggar woman (Agatha) approached the castle, seeking refuge from the biting cold. Offering a beautiful rose in exchange for warmth, she was met with ridicule by the Prince and his guests, who laughed at her haggard appearance as she warned him not to judge based on facade. When the Prince coldly dismissed her, she revealed herself to be a beautiful Enchantress. Despite his pleas for forgiveness, it was too late; the Enchantress saw the emptiness in his heart and, as retribution, transformed him into a hideous Beast. His loyal subjects were cursed as well, their forms changed into household items, and the castle was forgotten by the outside world. The Beast was left with a magical rose and a mirror that would serve as his only connection to the world outside. His only hope of redemption lay in finding true love before the last petal fell.
Years later, in the village of Villeneuve, lived a bold young woman named Belle (Emma Watson). Unlike the other villagers who found her peculiar, she delighted in literature and yearned for adventure. Her beauty caught the eye of Gaston (Luke Evans), a charming yet conceited former war captain who failed to capture her heart despite his relentless pursuits. Belle returned home to her father, Maurice (Kevin Kline), a gifted music box maker. Upon learning that Maurice planned to sell his crafts in a nearby town, she eagerly requested a rose as a keepsake.
During Maurice’s journey through a snow-laden forest, he encountered a pack of wolves and inadvertently stumbled upon the Beast’s castle. After being captured for picking a rose, Maurice found himself imprisoned at the mercy of the monstrous figure. Back in Villeneuve, Belle’s concerns grew when her father’s horse, Philippe, returned home without him. Determined, she rode to the castle, only to confront the terrifying Beast. In a courageous act, Belle offered to take Maurice’s place in prison, and the Beast reluctantly released Maurice.
At the castle, Belle adjusted to her new life alongside the enchanted staff, including Lumiere (Ewan McGregor), the charming candelabra, and Cogsworth (Ian McKellen), the dutiful clock. They introduced Belle to the castle’s enchantments, but she soon discovered the dark secret held within the West Wing—the rose that determined the Beast’s fate.
Meanwhile, Gaston and his sidekick LeFou plotted against both Belle and Maurice, dismissing Maurice’s claims about the Beast. In a fit of jealousy, Gaston schemed to earn Belle’s affection, leading to chaotic confrontations as the villagers rallied against the Beast. As Belle’s bond with the Beast grew strong through shared experiences, she unveiled the truth of her past, discovering her mother’s fate and revealing deeper layers of connection between them.
In a climactic showdown, Gaston sought vengeance against the Beast. However, just as the Prince appeared to meet his end, Belle’s heartfelt declaration of love broke the curse, rejuvenating the magic surrounding the castle and resurrecting the enchanted staff to their original forms. The joy of reunion ignited celebration, and the castle, once hidden in shadows, came alive with laughter and music.
The villagers and castle inhabitants celebrated their newfound happiness, as Belle and the Prince finally danced as one. “Can you grow a beard?” Belle teased playfully, while other enchanted friends joined in song, reminding everyone of the promise that love conquers all. And so, they embraced a blissful eternity, united in harmony as they lived happily ever after.
