The film follows a young man in a Russian city who struggles to survive in a brutal, post‑Soviet world ruled by the black market and the aftermath of the Chechen wars. Power is measured in stolen cash, and the new state ideology feeds on oil‑derived blood money. In this anti‑utopia, dreams are dead and only wealth, not intellect, can keep you alive.
