During the late‑1980s perestroika, as the Soviet Union teeters on collapse, Moscow’s streets erupt in crime and uncertainty. Andrey, a music‑school student living with his mother and five‑year‑old sister, is repeatedly harassed by teenage delinquents. To survive he befriends Marat, who pulls him into a rival gang. The youths battle for territory, bound by oaths to their “brothers,” confronting violence and the fear of adult authority in a rapidly changing world.
