Rukmini (Rekha), a single woman in her forties, lives with her orphaned niece Padmini (Mallika Sherawat). Together they masquerade as various personas to dupe affluent men—including Monty (Paresh Rawal)—stealing their money before abandoning them for richer marks. Their racket thrives until Padmini falls for one of their targets, Raghu (Karan Khanna), and wants out. Rukmini, indebted to Monty, hatches a new plot to lure Padmini back, threatening her romance and forcing the duo to resume their con‑artist escapades.
