Azhagiya Theeye

The film opens with Ramesh recounting his past to his fiancée Sandhya during a pre-wedding lunch with friends. He recalls the lives of his bachelor friends who live together in Kodambakkam and dream of making films. The conversation sets up the frame for the rest of the narrative.

Chandran, Gopi (Chithappa), Moorthy, and Bala live in a rented Kodambakkam house, chasing filmmaking gigs while a film union strike drains their funds. To avoid paying rent, they trick Annachi by pretending to cast him as the lead actor in their film. The band of friends takes odd jobs, including modeling and mascot work at MGM Dizzee World, to survive.

Nandhini’s powerful father aims to marry her off to Aravind in the United States. Nandhini refuses the idea, having grown wary of marriage after her mother's death. Ramesh asks Chandran to help rescue her, pulling the group into a plan.

Chandran convinces Aravind that he is in love with Nandhini to derail the arranged marriage. Aravind remains skeptical, but Nandhini publicly claiming love for Chandran convinces him to call off the marriage.

When the father persists, he arranges another marriage with an illiterate liquor shop owner. Nandhini is horrified, and the group must find a way to keep her safe.

To maintain the ruse, Chandran pretends to be Nandhini's lover, and Aravind facilitates a marriage registration. Nandhini asks Chandran to sign up for a temporary marriage to avoid her father's pressure.

Nandhini's family discovers the secret marriage and attacks them, but Aravind intervenes. He offers shelter in his flat, and Chandran's friends urge him to stay for safety.

Living together, Nandhini and Chandran clash frequently, while Aravind finds himself stuck between them. Over time, their adversarial dynamic softens and a genuine bond begins to form.

Moorthy is critically injured on a serial shoot and, as he regains consciousness, he calls out for Nandhini, hinting at Chandran's feelings. He dies soon after, leaving the friends stunned.

Chandran's story gains producer backing, and he plans to confess his love to Nandhini. Meanwhile, news arrives that Nandhini has secured a systems analyst job in Bengaluru, setting her relocation in motion.

Before leaving, Nandhini asks Chandran to sign divorce papers; he reluctantly agrees. She asks him to leave behind a pair of footwear as a token, and she departs for Bengaluru. The moment seals the emotional distance but foreshadows a future reunion.

As the group parts, Nandhini realizes her love for Chandran and embraces him in tears. In a time jump, Chandran becomes a successful director, and he and Nandhini are wed, reuniting with Ramesh and Sandhya for a celebratory lunch.
