Giada, Cristiana Capotondi, is a Rome-based student of communication sciences and embodies the archetype of a nerd: clumsy, a bit scruffy, and totally devoted to her studies. Coming from a modest background, she sustains herself by working as a waitress and offering tutoring to make ends meet. In contrast, Riccardo, Nicolas Vaporidis, lives the high life as a trust-fund baby, chasing social events, late-night club nights, and the company of his friends. Their paths collide when Riccardo’s father warns that his generous support will dry up unless his grades improve, forcing a clash between duty and pleasure.

As Riccardo’s circle of frivolous friends suggests, the easiest way to shore up his study hours might be to win Giada’s tutoring through a little game: seduction. Riccardo, drawn more by curiosity about Giada’s eccentric personality than by physical attraction, agrees to the risky plan. Giada, sensing the vast gap between their worlds, accepts the challenge but decides to test if she can still shape him. She enlists the help of Fiamma, a hyper-snobbish friend of Riccardo, who acts as a mentor in appearance and behavior.

Under Fiamma’s guidance, Giada undergoes a transformation—beauty treatments, refined manners, and a new confidence—that initially catches Riccardo by surprise. He finds himself unexpectedly impressed by her change, and the dynamic between them grows more complex. Yet the surface glow cannot hide the lingering distance and Riccardo’s ongoing tendency to flirt with other women. Giada, bruised but determined, ends the relationship in a moment of disillusionment. However, a startling realization soon follows: Riccardo discovers he’s fallen for Giada and begins to question his entire lifestyle and the snobbish circle he once valued.

The turning point comes when Riccardo attends an exam and discovers that Giada is the professor’s assistant. He sees in her someone who uses charm to influence the room, including the professor, and this revelation stirs him to reframe his approach to both study and love. He asks Giada to challenge him, not merely to boost his grades, and in doing so he reveals the depth of his feelings.

Giada, recognizing the sincerity behind his gesture, understands that he has truly changed. She, too, is still in love, and she runs to him with hope. Their reunion takes place on the roof of the university’s headquarters, where a passionate kiss seals their renewed bond and underscores a new, more grounded future together. In the end, what began as a calculated plan evolves into a genuine connection, built on growth, vulnerability, and the courage to leave behind a life that no longer fits.
